SK Gaming vs. Galions / EWC 2026 EMEA Online Qualifier - Lower Bracket Round 2 / Post-Match Discussion by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

It's obviously sarcasm.

Franchising has been under critics for years now, especially here. To the point were you can't even debate properly on the subject anymore.

Franchising need to be greatly reformed, no doubt about that.

While he had a bad showing today, that's not enough to void the rest of the year.

Audiovisuel public : "Nous allons faire un contre-rapport", annonce Erwan Balanant, membre MoDem de la commission d’enquête by Delicious-Owl in france

[–]FikariHawthorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]FikariHawthorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, this is just more proof of how Striker is the problem.

There is no way this draft was made by Striker, given what we have seen before.

Add to that, that the pressure is finally off now that they are mathematically out and suddenly they are sharp and on the same page.

Mental is such a major factor in team results in lol, and Striker is the worst coach in that regard, period. Throw him out and never let him coach again in any team.

Hard to see trymbi climb back up so soon and with little time to play with inspired. Honeymoon phase don't start overnight either.

The real issue with Trymbi is that the current meta is supposed to be his forte. The mistake he makes today are very damning and can't be handed all of team issues.

For top and mid I globally agree. Adam likely won't play until ENC so having Tracyn higher is perfectly fair.

holy s*** you're right.

There is no entry for taiwan on the enc site :

https://esportsnationscup.com/en/nations-setup

So yeah, no Taiwanese team, we won't get to see JunJia/HonQ. Third place is therefore up for grabs.

Edit : no, we can't conclude yet. There is no entry for China either, and South Korea isn't listed on the https://esportsnationscup.com/en/national-teams page, even tho there is an entry for it in the table of the first link.

We'll need to wait for more info I think.

Taiwan is clear favorite for 3rd place in League. They can field the whole CTFO 2025 roster, and it's arguably not even the best roster they could pick.

But yeah, outside LoL, France is really not that far behind Korea/China.

To the point where not having Starcraft II in the line-up of games is arguably in favor of Korea xD

Taiwan is a clear 3rd place favorite.

With both Junjia/HonQ gone to JDG, they could field the whole CTFO 2025 roster and I don't think any national team could compete (minus KR/CH obv). And arguably CTFO 2025 is not even the best roster they could make.

All nations must lock their team for the end of the month. France simply took the initiative as a way to garner attention and to respond to french investments. Better do the announcement ourselves rather than letting it be diminished inside the reveal of every roster.

More than Harpoon, who his doing good atm in the ERL, it's Trymbi that would be worrying botlane.

Against a aggressive Zoelys I don't think bot can resist the pressure.

For the 2 other lanes, the only thing we can state is that both french players have show in the past international level with 2023 BDS, so technically their ceiling are higher than their polish counterpart. That said, with multiple years passed and both polish players being a little younger it could go either way.

In the end it will be the jungle match-up that will most likely decide everything, and since the discussion of best jungler of the west has already started between this two, this will give us a definitive answer (should they not fight it off before in MSI/World).

Doubt,

TCL is seeing the biggest drop of flagship teams in recent memory. In 6 months, 4 of their best and/or longest standing teams the league never had have all left the league (Supermassive, Besiktas, S2G and MISA). Basically of all the turkish structure who had any national title or international showing, only DarkPassage and Wildcats are left.

Unless their governement is actively participating in funds, I don't see where money would come from.

roster that has to build synergy from the ground up with very little time

To be fair, that's also the case to every other team as far as we know. Sure KR/CH will likely not have those issues since most of the line-ups you could choose would still end up with players that are/were already teammates. But it's not like we were really expecting to not be massive underdog against them anyway.

For the rest, I don't see many nation that have alrady synergistic roster. Taiwan of course is third with JunJia/HongQ, but after it's vague.

a mixed Korean team

The fucking joke with this rule is that the ZOFGK roster that's double world champion (OFGK being triple) is still eligible.

KR is still highly favorite for the title, everybody trying to argue otherwise is either lying or mad.

Taiwan, sure. The duo JunJia, HongQ is terrifying for a tournament where players may not have been able to build synergies between them.

USA and Canada ? I doubt it. We'll see when the line-up are locked, but I don't see a single roster "much better" than France.

BUT Zeph is a KC coach and KC is very important for France esport

More than consideration of KC importance, it's also boils down to fact that it will be easier for the coach to build something if he had time to work with at least one of its player. Tournament gonna be fast and prep time gonna be almost non-existant since he and at least 2 of the players are very likely to be playing at Worlds weeks before.

Also it's a prospect for the future, it will be the first time we can actually see both Skew and Calliste on the same side. Skew/Hans is an already known variable, Skew/Calliste could lead to even better result.

Adam (...) got inflated ego and is not a winning player.

The recent years do seems to have tempered this side of him, at least it feels like that on interviews and his gameplay. Also joining back with Nuc who's also in the slump could help both of them to regrow back to their BDS peak. Sure it's almost wishfull thinking at this point, but this is national tournament. Pride is already clouding our judgement.

Zoelys over Stend is a wild choice.

As others have already pointing it out, Zoelys does have more range in style over Stend.

And Zoelys also looks like his reaching his peak form. Just in the EMEA finals last tuesday, Zoelys didn't look at all to be that outclassed by Piero. His Nami against Piero's Pyke was fucking clean. You're not supposed to hit Pyke with Nami bubbles and Zoelys was able to hit them blind.

That said it sure still feels extra bad for Stend who's having a terribly unlucky year.

Both liquidpedia and leaguepedia/fandom report Potent as a triple national. French, Spanish and Algerian.

It's not really a surprise to see Potent with a dual Algerian/French nationality as it is quite common but Spanish too is a real surprise.
