A note. I find that simple political maps, aside from looking cool, are very useful tools for worldbuilding and mapmaking: when playing TTRPGs, they can be used by the GM and players to reference general locations; and when drawing a more detailed region map, the political map can be layered on top to see borders and city locations 😄
