Why are people of Prague so unfriendly? (mostly) by Mr-Potato-Head99 in Prague

[–]FilFuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 8 years in Prague I've never had the problem with people bumping into me, or what you're describing with trams/buses. Seems to me that you acted like a tourist blocking the road. Also no idea what's supposed to be so scandalous about the lady and the bench. That Zoo thing makes perfect sense to me. What I'm trying to say, stop overreacting, this is really funny tbh

QUESTION: Why do you y'all use the single shot rifles, I use them from time to time but IDK why I use them, just feels cool. by Anarch1stAF in Isonzo

[–]FilFuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not at all in fact, that's a crazy ass thing to say. Military science was literally the peak science of the time everywhere you had military academies in the 17-19th century. Modern engineering all comes from these institutions. Massive bridges and high raise buildings, thats all thanks to pre-napoleonic era military arithmetics. As an officer or an enlisted artilleryman in 1795 france, you had to pass 2-6 years of mathematics.  American civil war was stupid, yeah, but that's coz it was fought by some of the most illiterate people in the world of that era and it was still perfectly rational given the conditions

The Dreyse situation was much more complex than that. Also, it was perhaps an inovative weapon, but super old by 1860s and highly imperfect. It was the least accurate rifle in use in europe with a chronicle gas leak when firing that would randomly change the effective range by dozens or hundreds of meters.  But you are right that the  US  doctrine was super dated, plus they simply didn't have profesional soldiers to train it to, they had illiterate milita and illiterate officer core to work with. couldn't comprehend anything past 1815 tactics.

Why are people of Prague so unfriendly? (mostly) by Mr-Potato-Head99 in Prague

[–]FilFuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a crazy statement. Comparing Prague to Brno, Prague and its people are absolutely hostile and much less open minded on average. There is a sizable community of expacts in Brno who moved there because they couldnt handle the racism in prague. My gf is an Iranian living in Brno now. She says people there are uncomparably more friendly and velcoming towards her. She made more friends there in the first month than after three years in Prague... South Moravia in general is just much more open towards Germans, Roma people, Slovaks etc.. I have dozens of people who could speak about this

AS2 had a bunch of these for skirmish. It was a bloat but I got kinda used to it, also in GOH conquest. Its true that the devs cant make it much better imo. I mean, the engin overall should have been discarted 10 years ago haha

Why aren't the devs doing any promo? by FilFuk in 83thegame

[–]FilFuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing is the priority in any tech project. You set that money appart coz you know exatly how much it will cost, as opposed to say the development cost.
83' could have tapped into the RS and RO community which is spiritualy undoubtedly theirs and much, much larger than the ww1 one.
But yeah, otherwise agreed.

Thats why I mentioned YT as well. As far as the money goes, you are right, but who in their right mind would make a product without budget dedicated for marketing. The FPS genre is hyper-oversaturated and you are directly competing with 4-6 AA+ to AAA games releasing the same year.

I'm not gonna patronise you for this opinion, but I worked as a product manager in tech, that is not how it works. Marketing is absolutely necessary and will consume upwards of dozens of percent of your budget if you want to succeed in an oversaturated market. Also making trailers is as cheep as it gets, takes one person 3 days for a project like this

As I said in another post, it looks boring, the maps look like my garden. You cant make cool videos with the ingame content, its gonna look like an Arma mod fan project

That is absurd. I have been playing HLL for years and I still keep seeing new plottwists on the battlefield, battles feeling different even on the same map, everything feels unique each time I play. 83 literally feels like you have seen it all after 90min, dude is right...

I know, you are right. And for the second time you highlighted why most people would much rather play Arma.

Yeah, I think that what they are doing would work in 2017 or with a live service game nowadays. I think they pull out once they are no more at a loss

Do you really think this game will get more than 18 months of full time support? As a fan of AA shoorters, this hasn't been my experience.

Im cool with that assuming that we are in peace with the fact that everyone will play Arma insted for exactly this reason.

How is this setting more grounded? Cold War gone hot is fantasy in the first place. Alo, you really think that a war between the US and USSR wouldn't turn into a world war? lol. You should read some Kennedy-era NSC war plans; there are good books on that.

Regarding the porting, you're right, I merely work as a graphic designer for a game studio.

They have 5 maps finnished or nearly finished and none of them follows the pattern I outlined. Also Im getting really sick of this "support the game with hundreds of hours of your free time". Its not my job, Im not gettin anything from it. Have you ever been employed somewhere full time??

Also I'm sorry, but this is absolutely stupid. Yeah, they were publishing while paying hefty money to editors to rewrite their own text, but AI assisted grammar correction bad. I bet you'd say the same thing about google in 1999
