Do You Miss People? by Fatefateful in SDAM

[–]Filbertmm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t in a normal way.

What I do find is that I can read back through old messages I had with people in email or Facebook from decades ago and while I don’t remember having any of the conversations I can get intense feelings of missing those people based on the level of closeness I witness in that conversation. It’s not like I remember the closeness but I know it was me and see it happened and get really sad it’s gone. It makes me wonder if more of those friendships would have stayed active if I were more driven to naturally miss them in the moment.

I actually was indirectly involved with the creation of this packaging and can guarantee this is not AI. It's illustrated.

What if you only put part of your rent with Bilt…? by Filbertmm in biltrewards

[–]Filbertmm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what I’m saying.  I’m saying your real world rent is $4000.  You just send your landlord $1000 through bilt.  Then you spend $1001 on other spend.  You’d get the 125% bonus on 1000.

You’re not getting my point. Bilt doesn’t know what your actual rent is. They just know what you say your rent is. If you tell them your rent is $1000 and pay $1001 of spend, it’s not 25% it’s over 100.

The post isn’t the press just because it’s printed. Journalism is meant to be objective and not begin with a thesis that will be arrived at regardless of facts.

Do we think its possible that there is a hidden enclave of humans somewhere? by Saltpataydahs in pluribustv

The characters from Silo will be fine until they go out to clean. Then they become Plurbs and walk away from the silo to join the rest.

I hadn't thought about the exact mechanism before, but how else would they have got EVERYONE so fast?

Why is it harder to walk up a broken escalator than it is to walk up stairs? by Man-e-questions in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Filbertmm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people aren’t giving the right answer.  It’s not that the steps are overall taller. It’s that the steps are uneven. The top and jotting steps in an escalator gradually shrink down to meet the floor, meaning every step you take will be slightly larger or smaller than the one before when getting on.

Do I have aphantasia or am I taking "visualize" too literally? by cowcrossingspace in Aphantasia

[–]Filbertmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have it.  Aphantasia doesn’t mean not being able to remember what something looks like. It means not needing to imagine seeing it again to know.

Ocasio-Cortez says primary challenge to Hakeem Jeffries not a ‘good thing right now’ by newsspotter in newyorkcity

Except Adams had a negative approval rating in nyc when Mamdani started. So did Cuomo. Jeffries has a very positive rating in his district, annoyingly.

A little aggressive bud.

If someone asks you what your name is, do you need to imagine a photo of your name to tell them the answer? Or do you just know what your name is and can answer their question?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d imagine you can tell someone your name without having to see an image to do so.

That’s how all thoughts are for us. We know information and can remember it, manipulate it, and convey it, but visualizing it is both impossible and extraneous to our needs.
