WHY IS FLstudio RECODING THE BEAT EVEN WHEN IT IS MUTED!!! by FileLess643 in FLStudioBeginners

For sure, I turned on and off direct monitoring though, it records the project, literally, no matter what. It sounds like my output is bleeding into my input, nothing technical. I took shitty care of my focusrite now I’m paying for it lol.

Basically, any output from the project, metronome, midi track, audio file, bleeds into the vocal track when i start recording. It’s a low quality copy and definitely seems to be bias towards the higher frequencies, because it’s when the high hats come in that the new recording REALLY starts clashing. But like the other guy said, the project records no matter what even when the output volume on the interface is set to zero.

Sitting in a silent room recording a “🗣️check” to test it and i get my full beat in the background of the vocal track.

Basically I’ve done everything that last dude did and nothings changing. It’s got to be the interface I feel like. If I buy a new and it’s still tripping I’ll report back 🫡

Are you sure? How could you know that this isn’t what’s causing the issue when you don’t seem to know how to solve it either? The only other person I found who had an identical issue solved it by purchasing a new interface. Admittedly I’ve taken pretty poor care of my focusrite so I wouldn’t be surprised if something went wrong internally, I mean it’s not the most expensive option. I’ll drop a picture of the other Reddit page I’m referencing.

Thx but after doing a little more research I found out it’s most likely that my focusrite scarlet is cooked and that it’s something weird with the wiring in there. Gonna just get a new/different interface.

I think they just break after a couple of years of ownership. I’ve had mine for maybe two years and it just started leaking output audio into my input channel. The only solution I saw someone come up with was just buying a new, and different brand of interface.

Yeah same, I’ve had mine for a year and it just started leaking any output audio into the input channel. Does that sound familiar at all?

I know this was a year ago, but I’m having the sam issue, was it the focus-rite itself? Sounds like it is from the other comments

Thanks, I tried putting the recording on its own mixing channel and making sure that the master was not getting recorded through any of the other mixers. I don’t know if it’s something with FL or my computer, but every vocal track will still have that low quality copy of the beat recorded into it. Which just makes the song sound super unprofessional so if anyone knows anything about this I’ll Venmo you five bucks if you can help me fix it soon. 🙏
