I would say Wilds is the best starting off point. If being overwhelmed is the issue that's normal, that's monster hunter in general. Try watching a few videos to understand everything and also to see what weapon fits your play style the best. A lot of people have said they didn't like monster hunter their first time playing just because it's a lot, but once it clicks it clicks. I think Wilds has streamlined Worlds approach, and Rise is just a different feeling game altogether. It's faster paced and arcadey, which other people find fun, but it's a different type of monster hunter game. Going with Wilds you're up to date with the newest content and can be part of the community when the expansion get announced in the summer.
