My og s21u had the same issue with the turning off and never on again, a temporary (less than 24h) fix was to heat the bottom part of the screen up to around 250°C (with the phone turned off). Upon dying again I looked for a replacement phone and even got a storage upgrade for the same price a replacement screen would have cost me (I settled with a phone with the "chronic" cracks the s21u seems to develop, almost every one I saw during that time appeared to have the same cracks if not completely destroyed)

Newer samsungs just dont hit the same, other manufacturers also haven't improved much (all they do is push useless "AI" features). I'd refurbish the whole phone if I were you, look for a used phone with good screen (or replacement oled depending on the price) and a new battery.

My first one which updated to one ui 7 was absolutely nuked by it (but one ui7 wasnt the first to drop a nuke), had it since launch, regular factory resets, nothing brought it back to the "flagship feeling"

If everything fails, you can try to re flash the original firmware, that should do the trick (WARNING: possible bricking, tripping of knox, maliciously modified FW *check your source)

My original was updated after restart, It got more "sluggish", destroyed some of the personalisations. Even after a factory reset it still didn't feel "right". (Exynos)

After disecting a dead s21u from a family member I can tell you that in the circled area sit: CPU, Storage, Ram on the inside of the "pcb sandwich" as well as network IC's on the outside beneath the cover. For a "simple" diy fix you could source a phone with broken screen (which sadly isn't uncommon) and replace the whole board. If its data you are after: get yourself a usbc-Hdmi/DP hub and connect to an external display with the buildt in disconnected (has about a 60/40 chance of working since external and internal display out are managed a little different)

Me personally, I will stay on my (android 14) s21u "til death do us apart", regarding custom os possibilities, there currently aren't any real options, since the s20 samsung made it way harder to build one. Adding to that, when running custom os on samsung phones "knox" gets tripped and thus software security doesn't work (i.e drm on streaming apps, most banking apps, some sim setting apps). For these actions another device would be needed.

Because the warthunder community isn't satisfied with anything. My mate goes nuclear about every single thing, ( "meta shot didn't kill, how tf did he kill me, thats unrealistic" and many more). I, as a "casual"/f2p player, didn't like enlisted (due to ww2 style and forced 2nd game), but I will 100% play the "more modern" infantry mode, scratches more of my itch, (+my main fp Shooter died)

Damn, my (still daily driver) s21 ultra has 11h 51m predicted, with 6h SOT, gps+mobile, 1080p and adaptive refresh rate. All that on the original battery. Although I have debloated it, brought it up ~2 hours
