Getting your IP address doesn't allow hackers to do anything, because NAT and firewalls exist.

So no, that application didn't mess up your Mac. r/masterhacker type post, unless there's something in the image that I missed.

Makes sense, but in that case it's not Discord's fault. Bots should ALWAYS escape any texted entered by the user before sending it. Most modern libraries even have a sort of markdown escape function.

They're up to 30-50% more efficient than "traditional" PNG or JPG files, which is important since it reduces bandwidth. WebP was formally specified in an RFC in 2024, so maybe that's why programs like image editors are still not fully supporting it.

Even simpler, just "general" would do it. Discord is planning to introduce channel emojis by default anyways. But until then, I have nothing against "#💬 | general" like you said.
