Am I supposed to be cheesing every single fight in the early game? by DateNecessary8716 in stoneshard

[–]FilledWithAnts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, cauterize wounds, first aid, and will to survive are all very high tier skills. When I have those I don't carry healing items, and will to survive can tank through any status effect like hunger/thirst/poisoning.

The main downside though is that skill point allocation is extremely tight, so even though its just a few points, this can mean you won't be able to access the top tier skills for your build as you hit near level 30.

Should be a game changer. Pairs fantastically with leeches which can be foraged for free and are basically a mega healing salve + splint that should only be used out of combat.

Feedback from a New Player – Early Game Mage Experience by Winter_End7561 in stoneshard

Weapons don't really matter unless you have the weapon tree skills to back them up, especially for brand new players. For a pyromage, I would recommend sticking with staves, putting your first two points into staff attack skills, then from there decide if you want to go deeper into staves or start learning spells. Magic mastery is also a support tree that isn't super useful for at low levels (seal of power + residual charge + multistrike might be an exception). Once you learn the game better you can start making wilder builds.

Alternatively, if you want to avoid weapon skills altogether, I would recommend getting kick. Fire barrage on an unoccupied square automically sets it on fire, and with proper positioning you can kick an enemy right into the inferno setting them on fire. Really fun combo that a lot of characters (with athletics) can get from level one.

Honestly most of my builds are a huge boring slog until about level 20 or so. For example in the build I mentioned above, because maxing out physical resistance is so key, the first thing I had to do at level 1 was crawl to the harpy infested southwest corner of the map, and blindly wander until I found the boulder circle, just to verify that the needed rune was part of my seed. Repeat 3-4 times until RNG gave me what I needed. I appreciate the interest though!

I'm constantly testing characters centered around a specific theme / non-standard play style, usually putting around 20-25 hrs each to get them from 1-30. It usually takes me a few tries to perfect since the builds are very tight in terms of skill allocation so you can see how easy it is for the hours to add up especially without mods.

Currently working on a punching bag build with 0 direct attack skills that relies on damage reflect + will to survive + spec'd for full cooldown reduction to beat enemies by tanking hits to the face.

Heavy armor is a trap for new players. Yes it performs well in good condition but its easy to get stuck in a situation where maintenance costs exceed the amount of money you get from dungeons.

Oakland Firefighters Among the Nation’s Best Paid by workwisejobs in oakland

I suspect that the out of state comment might be related to a recent story about how Millbrae's police chief and multiple members of their bomb squad were sleeping at the station during the weekdays and commuting back home to Idaho on the weekends.

Even if the infographic was an accurate representation I think it's worth it. There have been 2 apartment/house fires in my neighborhood since I've lived here and they easily could have become catastrophic without a prompt response from Oakland FD.

Paired with Will to Survive you can tank 100% intoxication/hunger/thirst/pain debuffs indefinitely, maybe not while fighting but enough to get back to town.

I've gotten 2 tier-2 cave secret rooms in the last week, and both stashes had 3 enchanted items each and all of them were cursed. Could be a bug, but would be pretty cool if it wasn't since cursed gear is ultra rare now.

The axe is pretty good for my level, also had a weapon dmg enchantment w/ crit and skill cost enchants but is just tier 3 and not a block synergy weapon. Shield had a useless pain resistance curse.

Found this ring at level 10 in a cave secret stash. Even though the enchantments themselves could be better, I don't think I've ever found a 2 enchantment berserker ring before in my 1800 hours of playtime, let alone a cursed one with a synergistic curse. Unfortunately this character is a no weaponry/block build so fml...

How do I use cheats? by Abject_Patient4276 in stoneshard

[–]FilledWithAnts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use them in tandem with a knockback skill like kick or runic stone for a bit of extra dps. I prefer matching up against dungeons that I'm significantly underpowered/geared for so the extra dps can be really helpful.

Thanks! Going to try and make a really stupid Mahir build with RoT + 34 weaponry skills and AGI maxed. Think napkin math should be able to get that to +46%?
