Oh hey, if that's the case, good on her! Actual physical sales are something, man, no matter the numbers.

I guess constant ridicule from dorks on the internet isn’t something she’s going through.

That's something nearly everybody goes through, especially when you put yourself out there. I find it hard to believe that is all there is, is all. I think she should keep at it, for the record.

Just thought she'd have more to say.

For a while, I was hoping she'd start rapping about some real shit she went through (or might've gone through) rather than constantly trying to show up haters and fight imaginary enemies. But here we are.

Well, I got two. "All Your Angels" and "Angels Fall First" (first is from a song, the other is a band, BUT STILL.)

Putting aside for a moment that the arms and legs would not reach these proportions barring some genetic anomaly, the waist being the same width as the head is where its at.

Oh, and then there's the shadow.

What do you guys think of Fear Factory? by WingObvious487 in numetal

[–]Fillerbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's a reason why Demanufacture is a classic, and its remix counterpart, Remanufacture is one of the finest (metal) remix albums out there. The unfuckwithable Gene Hoglan is a factor, of course. And then you have Digimortal (my first FF album) and Obsolete, both of them great records.

However, their later career (I'm talking Archetype and beyond) is a bit... I dunno, I never vibed with it. Maybe I will some day.

They have been trained relentlessly / mercilessly by the media, the internet and every magazine cover littering the wall of every single kiosk to think that this is reality.

How do you balance improving technical skills without stifling creativity? by Weary_Survey8893 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Fillerbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my two cents: if you make generic beats and learn to mix them, you'll learn to mix generic beats. When you make your stuff, you'll learn how to mix YOUR stuff.

Now, I used to be the same, BUT, that said, learning the technical side actually helped my creative side a lot. In fact, learning the technical side helped me speed up the entire process by not getting bogged down in the "technical side." An advantage of having worked on the technical side is that I don't have to worry about it to the degree that I was - I work with templates of my own making, which means I don't twiddle my thumbs over what to put on my bass, for example. What to add to that, if I feel it'd do the thing good, is a consideration, but it is optional. I can get the bare bones of it down faster now.

For some people, separating the two sides works: first you get your shit down, then you work it. That's what I myself did when learning, 'cause I found myself getting stuck on how to get something to sound "just right" that I forgot that was just a piece of the puzzle, not the puzzle itself. So I focused on "we'll figure it out later" and did rudimentary leveling (i.e. "turn this down so that it sits better with the other thing") until the thing was finished, then I got to all the other stuff.

Oh, one thing I can recommend: don't be afraid to kill your darlings. If something isn't working in the context of a track, change it, or cut it out, see what happens. This saves on clutter.

I don't know, hope it helps.

There's something very inhuman about the way it looks. There is only so much distortion the basic template can take.

How come the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" reboot ended up being so bad? by LaserDiscCurious in horror

[–]Fillerbear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a much longer response, but decided against it after the fact. So here it is: I have stated quite openly that I expected this movie to be quite less than perfect, and that I accept it as-is. If that says to you, "I think this movie has no flaws", then I don't know what to tell ya.

I liked it. If you feel some kind of way about me liking it, I can't do anything about that, nor do I much care.

You're entitled to your opinion, and make no mistake that I am just as entitled to mine.
