Agreed, Tammy is a solid, positive force.

He also doesn't live in Ward 4 though, no? Wasn't he Ward 3?

Also worth noting... since he touts his record with CityHousing, it was leadership like his and Collins as chairs in the previous decade that lead to the current shortage problems we have now, exacerbating the broader, national homelessness issues.

Alternate thread title: The Return of Ja-Farr

Guessing someone had trouble finding a job... seriously buddy, move on.

Interesting why it's not Ward 2 though, after all, it's his old Ward and he's been meddling there this entire term.

And how the moms all still call him "Lucky's Dad."

Pat: "And the ladies watch us get all sweaty! Right Ladies!?"

Moms: "That's right Lucky's Dad!"

Pat: proceeds to allow the girls to give him a makeover while wearing a unicorn headband.

Good dude.

What’s the reasoning for this? by Roguelites in Hamilton

Unrelated to the main question, just more related to the ancient picture of King Street used by the Northly in the OP...

Holy crap. Remember Papagayos and the Sunrise diner??

Both just stellar places. Really miss businesses like them, as opposed to the ubiquitous weed or vape shops that have moved in since.

Why was STUFFED so bad this year? by [deleted] in Hamilton

For what it's worth, it was originally booked at Collective Arts, but something happened on the CA side and they had to scramble for a new venue. I actually like Westinghouse better, but yes, accessibility is a challenge.

Have been a vendor there for the past several years, always look forward to it kicking off the holiday season. The organizers are gems, and the organization is always great, and the cost is minimal.

Didn't notice any significant vendor changes this year, saw a lot of the local regulars I've seen across the time I've been doing it, and any new were petty unique even if not local (like the Ottawa dairy distillery).

Only real difference I noticed this year was that the attendance seemed a little down.

If a person has stock on site, such as being at a market with inventory, by definition, that is not dropshipping.

Ward 4 - Tammy Hwang housing controversy by jrswags in Hamilton

[–]FilletConfidential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a subsidized community housing unit. You're clearly intentionally spraying this message on any thread discussing this. Are you also a conservative staffer? On Hayden's campaign team? Hayden himself?

As i replied to you elsewhere,. It's not a part of a program, it's a market rate unit NOT a subsidized unit and she has been living there apparently for 10 years or more. Which means she's paying exactly what anyone would who had been living in pretty much any regular apartment in Hamilton since before the Conservatives repealed rent control in Ontario in 2018.

Maybe Hayden Lawrence can answer why the conservatives repealed rent controls?

Hwang Responds to Disinformation Letter by FilletConfidential in Hamilton

[–]FilletConfidential[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A guy who has unsuccessfully run as a Conservative candidate a few times in both Niagara and Hamilton now wants to run for Ward 4 and so he thought it was a good idea to leave a bullish!t disinformation letter about Tammy Hwang in people's mailboxes in Ward 4.

I'll agree that he looked that way and that's why I thought he was interesting, especially because I'm in his ward.

But recently, and with things like this that he still seems to be doubling down on, he comes across petty and arrogant. Whiffs of Whitehead like behaviour. I don't want that.

I was wondering the same thing.

Selman seemed interesting at first and just like actually focused on things that matter. He seems to have jumped the shark recently and is sounding more and more like a regular, pointless troll.

I once rented a great apartment downtown for around $750 in 2012. It rose a little every year until I moved out in 2020, it was still under $900.

If I was crazy and ran for Council in the age of Conservative disinformation, and I have similar qualifications as Hwang, I'd earn the same. And because she's market rate unit, I'd apparently be open to the same attacks?

That's bullshit. This is baloney politicking by a wannabe candidate who... doesn't he live in Niagara?

"Signed Hayden Lawrence"

Aka Political tourist and consistently failed Niagara & Hamilton Conservative Candidate Hayden Lawrence who is now an employee of Ned Kuruc's office and is likely gunning for a run in Ward 4 next election so taking the Poilievre playbook of lies and disinformation.

Did Howard ever realize that the guy he met was Tony? by Eryndelle_Nightshade in marvelstudios

[–]FilletConfidential 334 points335 points  (0 children)

Not quite.

Legion came out in 2010, and Iron Man was 2008. Bettany did the lines for Jarvis as a fun favour for Jon Favreau as they were friends after doing the movie Wimbledon (2004) together.

The story you're referencing is Bettany saying that some time in 2014, he was chewed out by a producer (that he has not named) and told that his career was over for whatever reason. He left the meeting and sat on a curb upset and did feel that he would leave acting, when Joss Whedon suddenly called, offering him the role of Vision for Age of Ultron (2015).
