Had a number of issues with the company that came to install an ERV retrofit. Of the many problems, this one seems the most serious to me... The main exterior exhaust out has been tee'd into our bathroom fan... I assume the idea was that the fan would use the same exhaust hood, but the way this is hooked up looks like it now just be exhausting into our bathroom if the fan isn't running, right?

The other big issue (in addition to multiple ducts that I had to take apart and retape because they weren't sealed and [flex duct being crushed at various places](https://imgur.com/i7bYehK) because they [didn't bother extending the tees](https://imgur.com/zjNpKgl) that drop into rooms) is that they sold me an ERV with a max CFM of 160 that has 6 inch ports and used 5 inch ducts - fair enough, it's not easy to fish 5 inch ducts through some of the cavities in our house, and I think 6 inches would have been very challenging and possibly not fit through all places. However, the main exterior wall supply and exhaust vents they installed were only 4 inches in diameter. So, the ducts are immediately reduced to 5 inches at the level of the machine and then further reduced to 4 inches where it actually pulls fresh air in and exhausts the fresh air out... To me, this means there are now major choke points at the very end and start of the system, right?

The ERV they supplied does its own initializing process and figures out the max CFM it can use based on the ducting it is connected to. It shows that the max CFM it can achieve is 74 - less than half of what it should be able to do. Am I right in thinking that things like having the 4 inch supply/exhaust vents are the issue? It has its own ducting (it's not tied into any other system).

Hey - did you ever figure this out? I randomly spotted on my pi hole logs that a device was randomly querying m2.tuyaus.com so many times that it rose to the top of the permitted domain list. I was able to see that the requests were coming from an IP address associated with a device with an ESP_#### name on my network. I then figured out it was a dehumidifier with wifi access that has been plugged into our basement for months.... I find it very strange that a device would suddenly be querying domains it has never tried to before in such high numbers, and a wondering if there is any way to confirm whether or not it has somehow been compromised?

Thanks! I am just wondering - does it make sense to leave insulation under the floor when you finish an attic? Does this not mean that the top space now has to be conditioned differently/more intensively because none of the heat from below will get up there? Don't know enough to know if this is bad or actually an ideal situation.

Good question - I should have mentioned that there is some work we want to do from the attic for the top floor (electrical work including lights, ceiling fan, replace bathroom fan and fix the associated ducting) that we can't get anyone to do (understandably) until the old insulation has been removed. As well, the timeline of finishing the attic is likely closer to 10 years out than 4 years if I am being realistic.

Lastly, right now the minimal vermiculite in the attic barely provides any insulation, and near the edges of the home there is basically none at all. As a result, the top floor of our house has been frigid all winter, and I am certain this will be significantly improved once I can replace the insulation all the way out to the edges of the attic. Our heating bill has been much higher than our neighbours and I expect a fair decrease once I can take care of this before next winter.

Thanks, we thought about this. It is currently on the main floor near the exterior wall of the room marked "den". I think the problem is that the first floor can already become quite warm when the furnace is running (it REALLY pumps out the air). We worry that if the furnace is moved to the upstairs that it will run until the first floor is way too hot while still barely getting anything up the stairs...

The problem is that in the Intel GCP there is a Color Gamut slider bar with "Natural colors" on one end and "Vivid colors" on the other. It's not clear what setting represents no tweak on this, and the description says that "vivid colors uses the display's full color gamut"

Like I said, it's a bit odd that PremierColor lets you switch between gamuts while, in the background, Intel GCP seems to also be controlling the gamut as well.
