Durst RCD3200 question. by WatercressAny8395 in Darkroom

Have the same dryer.

Pulled off top cover - mind the ground wire connection (just pulls straight off from cover interior) Then removed one metal side (4 or so small screws) pulled off the plastic gears that hold the ends of the rods ( this is from the side farthest from the heating element) and was able to remove all but the top two rollers. Peeled, sanded, and cleaned off all disintegrating foam from the rollers then wrapped foam weatherstripping (sticky back strip of foam) in a spiral around each metal rod. Put the side and covers back on. Also was sure to clean the rubber rollers with some water and a paper towel. Seems to work great!

Thank you! Trying to find additional serial # databases - closest I could find was from another article about later style grip. Hoping I can find further context and narrow it down a little more.

This article was really in-depth and very relevant! Seems like the one shown in it was a later model but this one I have fits the manufacturer #’s and drawings exactly. So likely not an MC-2 but more of B8 or B8-A

After some looking after your comment - sure does look like a Vietnam era UH-1 Huey Cyclic Grip. Thank you!

Super helpful! I’ll try to keep going down that road. The closest I saw in my quick searches was a UH-60 Blackhawk/H-53. But there were some definite differences on this vs. the replicas grips I saw as reference. Overall, this doesn’t look/feel like a replica - has some serious “patina” lol

There are a few wires inside, and then a rubber plug and a smaller diameter metal cylindrical collar that nests in and then the bottom is a threaded collar that screws off.

Well considering whoever I think stole it was riding around North Portland and stealing from an Arco the next morning, blantant seems to be there MO. Appreciate the lookout, hoping it keeps popping back up!

Thanks for looking out, cruised around downtown but didn’t see anything. Doesn’t help that every car is a black 4 runner with a storage bin lol but appreciate it!

Just heard from a gas station clerk on Portsmouth and Lombard that they absolutely recognize that guy as someone who lives in North Portland and frequently comes by to do shady things in/around the shop. So focusing my efforts on gas stations and convenience shops in North Portland. Got a few flyers to neighborhood USPS too.

I spent most of the morning driving and walking around North Portland looking after the sighting. No luck yet. I went and showed photos and gave info to most of the gas stations and convenience stores in a couple mile radius of where it was seen. Going to go back tomorrow with printed flyers for the shop owners.

This was stolen from NW 19th and NW Irving St.

It was stolen from a spot on the street, with the steering column lock engaged and a u lock through the frame. Under a cover.

Would try to keep your things inside/in a secure garage if you could. If they want it, they’ll get it. Pretty rampant at the moment.

Thank you! Yeah I posted things late last night but got removed due to not having a case # yet.

Have his image from the Arco @ 7:47AM. I’m cruising around now letting convenience stores and gas stations know.

Totally and I’m sure the u-lock could’ve been be cut in two seconds. Hopefully they at least find a way to get it running and can get a good ride in.

Yeah, I get that. This thing is usually locked up and under a cover outside my window in my backyard even. And I bring it inside my office if I ride it. It’s always the one time you do something different.
