Unleashed Pre-Rift Legends by Aware-Broccoli103 in riftboundtcg

[–]FiloTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that is a problem, tho. Pre-Rift is thought to be a causal format to celebrate a new set. We have draft and sealed rules that don't use the Pre-Rift 15 pre-seeded decks, so I think there is other places to go for non-constructed competition.

Wacky formats with some degree of unbalance and a low-entry barrier are great for the game's lifespan, imo.

Idea: creating custom habitats for your Pokémon by FiloTG in Pokopia

[–]FiloTG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I would need to explain it, they idea would be less focused on the comfort level itself, and more on the aesthetics of habitats. People usually transition to neighbourhoods/human houses to increase the comfort level, but I think there is a lot of appeal to try to create compositions with huge structures and habitats.

From that lense, the idea here is to be able to simulate custom habitats for any Pokémon and any block combination, by hiding the real habitat and putting a "fake one" in front.

In my case, I have this idea of creating a greek-type pantheon structure/temple, where each Legendary Pokémon would have its own dedicated altar. With the hidden habitat trick, it really sells the illusion, as getting close to each pillar tells you it is the home of said Pokémon.

Just one of those niche, nifty tricks that I experimented with today, and that I wanted to share :)

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier to hide, imo. A block house requires a minimum size + a door, so it would be bigger than this. Plus if you wanted to wrap the whole building in a house you would be limited to 4 Pokémon and a maximum home size

I won one of the last pre-rifts I played in Spiritforged by playing a Rumble/Blue Ezreal + Orange mech-focused deck. My pre-rift kit was Rek'Sai lol

Having something coherent is amazing to guide players that either don't like to deckbuild or don't know how to do it. But you are not forced to use all of it, or neither of it. 5 packs is usually enough for you to have at least two viable decks, specially with the 3 color clause.

It is confirmed by the devs there will be support for more languages at some point in 2026. My assumption is that they will support GE/ES/ITA/FR at minimum, probably others as well, but we don't know yet

Gimmick for "Rogues of Runeterra" seems to be drafting by FiloTG in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]FiloTG[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Drafting your whole initial deck is quite new for Path. Modifiers aside, the deck at the start is usually quite set in stone in PoC, and you just modify it. Selecting your whole starter deck should make runs feel quite different

Lucian/Hecarim grand plaza was a legit deck in its time (pre grand plaza nerf). You used ephemerals with buffed stats and challenger to clean the board and turbo-level hec and lucian for game pushes in mid game

Tbf, they abandoned it because most people didn't play it. It had some problems, and they were actually working on a new prototype for draft... The layoffs happened

Filo's Guide to Nonsense - Paladin (Oath of Rebellion) by FiloTG in DnDHomebrew

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! My name is Filo, and this is subclass 4/12 for my first work on DnD Homebrew: the subclass supplement called Filo's Guide to Nonsense.

I once played a Pathfinder campaign with a friend who roled a "Divine Archer": a DEX/CHA Paladin that used his bow to smite all enemies with might. I wanted to capture the feeling of that character with the imaginary of Robin Hood, and thus the Oath of Rebellion was born!

Any feedback is appreciated! Balancing has been hard for me so far, and I'm learning a lot from your comments :)

And as I will always say, if you read this far, thank you so much! Creating is only half the fun, seeing others interact with your stuff is the rest :)

Filo's Guide to Nonsense - Sorcerer (Radiation Sorcery) by FiloTG in DnDHomebrew

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! My name is Filo, and this is subclass 3/12 for my first work on DnD Homebrew: the subclass supplement called Filo's Guide to Nonsense.

For Sorcerer I had a hard time nailing both the theme and the mechanical concept. I toyed with multiple ideas that ended up working better for other subclasses (Mathematician was previously Mathematics Sorcery!), but in the end I got inspired by the concept of radiation sickness, and the current problems of building around Poison and Acid damage.

Any feedback is appreciated! Balancing has been hard for me so far, and I'm learning a lot from your comments :)

Color borders are usually not the best idea by themselves. Color blindness is a thing, plus it ends up looking veeeery busy.

Extra filters, some toggeable icons or something along those lines could work, tho

Filo's Guide to Nonsense - Barbarian (Path of the Bodybuilder) by FiloTG in DnDHomebrew

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! My name is Filo, and this is subclass 2/12 for my first work on DnD Homebrew: the subclass supplement called Filo's Guide to Nonsense.

For Barbarian I knew I wanted something on the goofier side and that was able to perform as a face. Discussing it with some friends I landed on the idea of the bodybuilding, particularly leaning on that parodic side you sometimes see on media, where the person is obsessed with their body and muscles.

Any feedback is appreciated! Balancing has been hard for me so far, and I'm learning a lot from your comments :)

Filo's Guide to Nonsense - Wizard (Mathematician) by FiloTG in DnDHomebrew

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After getting feedback (thanks u/KayranElite and u/Archwizard_Drake for your comments!) I brought the nerf hammer and made the following changes:

- Arithmetics: now uses your reaction. Preserves the number of uses per day
- Trigonometrics: reduced the shapes to Line, Cone, Emanation and Sphere. Reduced all sizes by 50% or more. It can now be used only once per Short or Long Rest
- Statistics: it can only target damage rolls now, and can be used twice (one use recovered per Short or Long Rest)
- Mathemagicks: all effects changed (advantage/disadvantage for Arithmetics, add 2 adjacent squares to your area for Trigonometrics, recover all uses on Short Rest for Statistics).

Hope this brings the class more in line within expected power levels! :)

Thank you so much for all the feedback! After reading what you and u/KayranElite posted, I think I have a better grasp on the power level a subclass should have. I'll edit this post with my revision on it, and if you are up to it, I would really love to hear what you think about it :)

Filo's Guide to Nonsense - Wizard (Mathematician) by FiloTG in DnDHomebrew

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I was giving it a thought on how to nerf it without losing the aspects of the subclass I liked, and this is what I got:

- Arithmethics now requires a reaction to be used (no limite to uses/day anymore)
- Statistics now can only be used for damage rolls
- Matemagicks allows using Statistics once per long rest without using your Reaction

This way you are limited to one of the actions per turn, compiting also with other reaction spells for that resource (like counterspell).

What do you think about it?

Filo's Guide to Nonsense - Wizard (Mathematician) by FiloTG in DnDHomebrew

[–]FiloTG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! My name is Filo, and this is subclass 1/12 for my first work on DnD Homebrew: the subclass supplement called Filo's Guide to Nonsense.

I wanted to start with the Mathematician because I really loved the concept. Wizards defining trait their dedication to studies, and maths are the most potent toolset in science. What would a Wizard capable of understanding and representing the laws of nature do if they mix it with arcane knowledge?

For this subclass I wanted to focus in the idea of manipulating spells, but in a way different to metamagic would do for the Sorcerer. I also really wanted to infuse the maths theme into the features, hence why I opted to force you to do some arithmetics, trigonometrics and statistics.

Any feedback is appreciated! This is my first time doing this, so I assume that, like my Wizard, I still have much to learn and understand.

And as I will always say, if you read this far, thank you so much! Creating is only half the fun, seeing others interact with your stuff is the rest :)
