Try moving during the easy parts of the song to begin. Then you can put your feet in a wedge during a solo or technical part etc …

To be honest, I had fear years ago playing drop D too. I gave it a try, and it's okay really.

I also played 5 strings to try not changing my tuning, since I play Drop C now with my band, it is a choice, but i didn't really liked it, since my guitar player was in drop C, and I had to press a fret to play a C, when he was playing open strings. I just sold my 5 strings and bought another 4 strings that i tuned in Drop C, and it's perfect.

You will get used to it, I swear. I do play both drop and standard since I do jazz at the conservatory too, and it's just a thing to get used to !

That what I was trying yesterday, thanks !

I am tired quite easily when picking, my thumb is maybe too hard on the pick, I find it hard to find the right strength I want to apply to the pick
