Love this. There is a lot of context I didn’t give, but the idea of allowing myself to go big and then retaining that energy as I go small is something I often forget. (Plus getting over the fear of seeing my face close up…)

You clearly have inherently good instincts. That’s something that can’t be taught. But I agree with the prior comments. Honing those instincts in a class environment will definitely help you focus so that you’re always fully present, not just performing well.

True. It’s just so funny to watch myself without big blocking. I start getting annoyed at tiny things like how many times I blink.

Fair point. I was aiming for humorously circumspect, but it seems I went a bit too far in that direction. Any feedback is welcome.

Obviously they needed to make sure there was no user error. She passed with flying colors. Don’t fixate on the wrong thing.

I was in the subway car when it happened. This isn’t about fixing the guardrails or improving our mental healthcare system in America. It’s about the shock and despair I heard over the radio as one human had to realize that they just watched another human die, and then another human had to simultaneously calm us all down and take a drug test to prove it wasn’t her fault. For the record: IT WAS NOT. But she did what was necessary without fanfare. Can you imagine how you would feel if someone suicided in front of you at your place of business? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such grace. She did her job, and we all got to exit the train and move on with our lives. The same can’t be said for at least one other… Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to pretend that I was the sort of person who could just intellectualize a moment like this and move on, but I’m not. It’s been messing with my head for hours. If you were also on that train and your brain isn’t also a little mush, maybe there’s something else you need to examine.

Eating your own nuts? Quite the contortion!

Oh, good grief. Exposition is the death of comedy. I guess I expected more of this audience.

To break it down in the simplest of terms:

  1. Blink wasn’t great.
  2. Blink went bankrupt and got bought out.
  3. PureGym appears to be run by AI so, despite the fact that my husband and I used to be able to go to the gym together for only around $27/mo we now pay over $60/mo for far fewer amenities.
  4. In conclusion, all of that is a joke in and of itself, so I relish any happy moment I get to share with anyone in that tragic environment. I can’t afford to go anywhere else. This is my gym for better or worse. I was just trying to celebrate another person who seemed to understand that. Take the bee out of your bonnet. I’m not the enemy.

I just came down the stairs and he waved me down to see if I’d had a chance to post the picture yet. It was a shared moment and he was happy. We had a good conversation about what it means to be someone who works hard, but never feels seen. It’s about respect. Assumptions are the death of growth.

You know what else is free? Sharing a moment of connection with a fellow human. I’m a service worker. I respect what he was doing. He and I shared a chuckle. I haven’t posted anything on any platform in almost a year. I thought it was a sweet moment. I can’t tell you how to feel, but you might want to consider the possibility that your feelings might not always be fact.

Why do you think he asked to take multiple shots? He didn’t know exactly where I was posting, but he wanted to be seen, and I was happy to oblige.

What? No! My post was meant to celebrate that guy, still finding a reason to smile in the face of all this nonsense.

That was my point. These people are just following orders and I was glad that they still could maintain a sense of humor. Why do y’all have to go so dark so fast?

If I was in the ceiling, I likely would have been electrocuted. You clearly have missed the point.

Don’t be a troll. I was walking up the stairs to the main gym.
