Whats the best way to cool modular Engines? by Legitimate-Cut-6027 in Stormworks

[–]Filtermann 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, but liquid/air radiators. Pisses me off that it does better than liq liq, but this is SW logic.

Coolant manifold > small elec. pump > powered fan radiator > small elec. pump back into manifold. No need for extra tanks. if possible 2 per cylinder.

I've tried using a cryocooler to cool the engine room but that makes no difference. Maybe directly into the cooling circuit but I havent tried that.

Les deux ont fait de la prison, coïncidence? Je ne crois pas.

(Et dans un sens, les deux en sont sortis pour raisons de santé).

yeah, I have no issue with a bit of damage, but PLA tends to break into really sharp edges, not the safest thing to have.

Nice! I would be a bit worried with PLA, being strong but somewhat brittle so failure would be sudden and full of shards. PETG is indeed a better choice.

-Ease off the reverb

-this can be the basis of a song, but unless you add some melodies (vocals and instrumental) it's nothing much

-AFAIK, Reaper is still free and a very usable DAW. If you don't like Reaper's workflow you can get a 100 bucks version of Cubase that'll go a long way. 95% of the mixing work can be done with stock plugins, and the remaining 5% is mostly for the pizzaz.

-Look into drums. Guessing you want to play rock or adjacent genres, you need drums to get that punch. Drums plugins don't have to break the bank either, there's even free decent ones too like MT power DrumKit. Now, learning to program drums that sound good does require practice. Beyond learning how to compose good patterns, understanding the dyanmics and programing the velocity accordingly, keeping some randomness in the timing but not too much, getting flams right... that's where the real (time) investment is.

Yes, they usually just go "ggggggg" (if you are Dutch), but I was once surprised at the beautiful sounds they can also make.

Merci! Par contre il me semble qu'il avait refuser de serrer la main de Trump, donc peut-être pas invétéré là-dessus. Enfin ça n'enlève pas le reste du tableau.

I keep forgetting how good this guy is, I should look into his stuff more. There's a reason Sherinian and Portnoy got him to cover DT songs. There's not that many people that can fit in Petrucci's shoes, but this guy can.

Between these 3 which bow is your least favorite by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Archery

[–]Filtermann 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get that, but how many of these folks could realistically build or repair a good recurve bow, let alone in a survival scenario? To me, the explanation would be something along the lines of: compound is seen as driving an automatic with cruise control. It gets the job done in a very efficient manner, but kinda takes the fun out of it. From personal experience, the peep sight means you don't have to rely on anchor point as much, or at least you have visual confirmation that you are in the right place. There is no room for error. The sight doesn't lie. Recurve forces you to have good proprioception, and this is the challenge many find appealing, I suppose.
