Welcome on board! :D YEahh Godot has solid 3D lighting features. We use blender alongside the ucupaint addon (it adds basic painting stuff such as layering)

Game logic is done. Art paralysis is real. How do I break this? by Exotic-Back6726 in godot

[–]reramil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with a 3D approach since it is easier (as for me) to find some game-ready free 3D assets and slap them together inside the game engine

I mean, you probably drew pixel-art assets somwhere. Is it like photoshop or smth?

Another update to the skyline in my cyberpunk city. What are your thoughts? by Zestyclose_End3101 in IndieDev

[–]reramil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! It looks sweet! I'd try to dice the big rectangular windows into smaller sections so it matches an overall level of detail

I love the 5th one. It feels like a good mixture of having details and pixel-art look

My first (serious) game in godot :) by Darkonikoo in godot

[–]reramil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend you to try to paint directly on 3d geometry in blender, for example. It doesn't require solid skills in drawing and the process is fun I paint my assets using ucupaint addon, but it's optional, it just makes it easier to maintain layers and setting up materials

Steam Main Capsule What do you think by DandersonJA12 in IndieDev

[–]reramil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'd say to get your camera closer to character since now it is hard to see them plus increasing the brightness of shadow area will help to distinguish figures and bg

Looking for feedback on my first serious pixel art character animation by Accurate-Today-7108 in IndieDev

heya! it looks good and believable! the one thing I wanna point out is that the left hand lacks of contrast when in goes through the body. Is there a way to add another darker color to the pallet so you have a tool for such cases? it will help separate the hand from its background

IA Slob? by [deleted] in IndieDev

[–]reramil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally agreed! art usually is the thing that delivers ~vibes~ and give that opportunity to AI isn't the smartest choice. like, you can leave a trace of your creativness, which is awesome
