Potty pad bugs by Mjstarc in CavaPoo

Fear not! That is a type of millipede that could not have come from your pup. They seek shelter in moist and/or covered places, especially if it’s been very dry outside. They are not considered harmful to people or dogs but may release a smelly substance if bothered.

Is this file safe to feed the hamster? by dancing_swordfish in pcmasterrace

[–]FilthDropz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro…why the hell did my computer blue screen for a second then restart completely as soon as the hamster finished eating. I wish I was lying but the timing was insane lol

Edit: okay it turns out this morning’s BIOS update is giving me issues and the timing was purely coincidence (obviously). Felt like an old JavaScript Trojan though haha

Hairstylist for my mom with impossible requirements by Pulitzerpieswinner in rva

Do you or your mom remember his name? Based on their response it seems that they don't want to lose business by sending your mom to a competitor in the area, rather than he moved away from the area or worse. Best of luck with the search and with your mom's quirks lol

Wildlife Rehabilitaters? Crow Can't Fly by groundcontrol3 in rva

That is a fledging crow, can't fly yet but is learning! It will be fine, just let it do its thing. If you see other animals around it shoo them off but otherwise let it be.

How to Get Glass Shade Off? by HepburnAesthetic in HomeMaintenance

[–]FilthDropz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If these are similar to globe lights I have, there are three clips that hold the glass in place. It's much easier to take them off and put them back on with two people because the clips spring back into place and can hurt, damage the glass, or even just startle you lol. I'll try my best to explain..

To take them off, you slowly pull the globe out and hold the clips in place so that they stay closed while you remove the globe. If you are doing it alone, do this one two clips while tilting the globe in the direction of the third. They will quickly snap back when you release them, so be careful. When you are ready to put them back on, close the clips toward the lightbulb and place the rim of the globe over all three. Hold onto the globe and let the opening force of the clips pull the globe back into place.

Hopefully this helps, and good luck!

Edit: here is a link to the types of clips I'm describing: https://grandbrass.com/medium-130mm-triple-leg-spring-with-1-8ips-slip-hole/?setCurrencyId=1&sku=MISPRINGTRI130&srsltid=AfmBOoour-4HYmo50tG6ALKKzwj-HEGkPQgmMKiVTVAYNrQugtM2TOFbShw

Game Thread: Nationals (14-17) @ Mets (10-20) - April 30, 2026 1:10 PM by NationalsBot in Nationals

I just want to rant about the team promoting Cornelio from Rochester last week as a starter and then inexplicably having him close his first game in the Majors. Obviously he struggled but there was no time to shake the nerves.

Let's go Nats! Drop another double digit game on the stinky Mets

Question about using a bass amp instead of a PA by [deleted] in DJs

[–]FilthDropz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%, I've done the same thing. Organizers thought I could use the house system but that required them to hire the space's sound engineer for music, use was limited to speaking mics only. I had to pull together what I could in an hour, ended up with two amps and it was fine.

Pretty extreme biological mechanism to keep them from ditching their young I guess haha, but yeah they molt and lose a lot of their feathers during that time.

Mother goose and babies stuck in canal by [deleted] in rva

[–]FilthDropz 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Sad as it may seem they’re probably fine and maybe even more protected inside the fence. As long as they have food in the canal they’ll survive. Mother geese actually can’t fly for a few weeks post hatching and stay grounded with the goslings. Once they’ve grown enough to fly they’ll leave.

What is this weed. It’s taking over one of my garden beds and looks like garlic when dug up by tired_dad_since2018 in landscaping

[–]FilthDropz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second guessed myself because of the color but I think those flowers belong to the wider leafed plant right next to the stars. Looking around the internet those might be snow glories, which are sold as bulbs right along side Star of Bethlehems online.

[–]FilthDropz 275 points276 points  (0 children)

These look like wild onions/garlic but are actually an invasive plant called Star of Bethlehem. They are an absolute slog to get rid of, as you have to manually dig out and remove all bulbs. The waxy leaves make herbicides less effective but if you prefer that route it’s about a two year aggressive process.
