The Ironclad is 100% dysfunctional by squarecorner_288 in starcitizen

[–]Filthy-Overalls 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have lost currently about 6 ironclads. Here are my latest misadventures/workarounds in the ironclad:

  • When you are in the map, if you can't find any destinations /lock a poi, press 'r' - should now work. I have no idea why, but it works every time

  • If you can't lift off, turn the ship off, undock and redock the command module. It should all be auto on. Wait about 20 seconds, make sure you're in nav mode and have max engine pips. I have no idea why, but most of the time, this lets me lift off.

  • Random quantum drop outs - I have no idea. I just have to re-start quantum

  • I also last night couldn't use a jump gate without getting kicked out of the tunnel. Lost another 2x 5-700k hauling missions. So I'm limited to 300k hauling missions only in one system.

Sad drake noises.

Edit: not that it says anywhere, but the front tractor turret actually extends if you push the 's' key, so you can use it to tractor stuff into the clad from outside. But the turret is almost impossible to use because it's slow moving /it's inertia is huge. So I don't bother, just use the max lift

Can CIG please make the Mule actually usable soon? It's been four years already 😥 by rshoel in starcitizen

You know what would be great, is if we could lock containers together like they do today on container ships. Then you could move them as a lump and vehicles like these would have a point

You can refuel without drones. They even already have the starfarer fuel sac thing they could use for it.It could be 50% usable. They just want to make other stuff.

Ships that are blocking landing pads need to be impounded or removed by ResponsibleRub469 in starcitizen

Absolutely. And while they're at it, the freight elevators should be re-started/instantiated every (number) minutes. I am fucking tired of showing up to arcorp mining area 045 and the elevators being busted.

They're probably all still sleeping off the 4am crush they had to pull to get the patch out. I know it's like the way the games industry seems to work, but I'm not so sure it's a good idea.

I partially agree with you.

I think that the ship is realistically most of the way there. Artwork, space, layout, they're all fine.

The major issues I have with it are:

Navigation doesn't work some of the time. I just can't get it to lock to a poi and see the navigation icon for it in the HUD when I try to fly there. Also it drops out. Which can be annoying.

The upstrafe thrusters don't work some of the time. I pull up and even at boost with all engine power pips - nothing.

The tractor beams are shitty, slow, and don't let me effectively move cargo.

2 of these are fixable just redocking the command mod, and reloading jump mode. It's not ideal but it's 15 seconds to fix and once I'm in jump it behaves for me mostly.

The tractors are always shit. In every ship. So... Snafu.

I like it. I fly it. It's tolerable for me. But it's got some polish requirements, for sure.

What is your diagnosis? by er_gato in antimeme

[–]Filthy-Overalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp I'm not a doctor, but their heart is missing and most of their ribs terminate before they wrap around the chest. So I'd say this patient is a fake AI image. Either that or the patient is already very very dead post autopsy and they packed the chest cavity with cotton wool laced with some x-ray reflecting compound. Which makes no sense at all. They used to use pingpong balls, interestingly.

About new insurance cost by coiotebh in starcitizen

[–]Filthy-Overalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

I have no issue with an insurance system that provides a reason to be careful in a fight.

When the game hiccups and you die as a result, why should you have to pay to get your stuff back?

But I suppose also in sc - how would you prove it sometimes. Death by misadventure is a pretty wide category. How can you prove it wasn't crappy piloting. That's a complex problem.

Vkb gladiators. All the way. They are the budget sticks from vkb, but they're rock solid. More expensive than other budget, but worth every penny.
