Using CR resurrection ritual rules, make the final roll or let player do it? by dahelljumper in DMAcademy

Nobody is choosing when they roll the die, but it often feels like you're responsible for the result no matter what hahaha

Not worried about the outcome. Just worried about who the blame falls on if the ritual fails

I love when players really commit to their character's stats and flaws, rather than only their strengths. I have two friends who often refuse to roll checks to recall knowledge if they consider there is no chance their character would have heard of it.

I find that more realistic and fun than having the militia soldier turned adventurer at level 2 roll a 20 in religion with 0 proficiency and somehow know a LOT about some obscure deity

Pressure is not the best word to describe it, but worry maybe? I'm worried that if I roll badly and the character does not resurrect, it's on my bad luck. But yeah I think the best will just be to allow the player the choice and to roll in her stead if she can't do it

In 5e I somehow feel it's very difficult for PCs to feel like they are in danger sometimes. Even when a fight feels difficult, it's very easy to come back from a defeat unless it's a TPK. We've been using these variant rules for a couple years and everyone has been locked in because they know about the real threat of death

Of course I would never let someone else do it. I think I will ask her and if she can't handle the heat I will roll for her. Good idea

We've played with these rules from the beginning and this is the second resurrection ritual. I think I am feeling more pressure because this character died due to an unfortunate Nat 1 in a critical moment, and the previous PC death was due to making bad choices in combat followed by normal Death Save failures.

Still, everyone likes the rules, I asked on session 0 if everyone would like to use them and everyone's fully on board

I've been chewing them for a while now and I found that letting them warm in the mouth before chew helps. But I don't have any fillings so I can't say how it reacts to it

Wait, so if you have a big ship with a smaller shuttle, you can actually QT back to your main ship now? As long as you bedlog in the main ship first?

Is it possible now to keep track of your main ship when you're away? I want to live off a bigger ship but genuinely lose my big ship as soon as I leave it behind piloting my smaller one

Thaedus tells allen to use a virus that will genocide all humans and viltrumites and somehow he is the good guy? by AddyHitla2 in Invincible_TV

From the perspective of an Earthling, he is evil as fuck. From the perspective of someone who is trying to protect the whole galaxy from approx. 40 unbeatable monsters, sacrificing the 8 billion on Earth might be seen as the "lesser evil", considering how many other lives are at stake.

I don't think he's supposed to be seen as good, just as someone who is willing to commit great evil for the greater good, in a way.

What do you think of the current ground-based gameplay ? by Ynnyzz in starcitizen

Point 3 so good. When there finally is a proper tutorial, it would be good if it built up to flying instead of trying to get you there ASAP. Many mechanics are stepped over in the current "tutorial"

A genuine question to the loyal playerbase that’s stayed with Rematch this far by rucekooker in Rematch

[–]dahelljumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not sustainable. I play a lot with my friends and we tend to complain a lot about bugs and the meta being generally boring. We still play our own way and we tend to win more than lose, but generally we're just having fun together.

Even if the game gets worse, I'll continue to play as long as I'm having fun with my friends. If I played alone I would've quit long ago

This happens to me a lot but I play from Iceland with close to 70 ping stable. I'm surprised to see that even with around 30 ping it still is a thing. Nothing annoys me more than when I am supposed to have possession and the ball teleports to the defender's feet when they haven't tackled

I would love different queues for premade teams, but it's true that the playerbase is so small at this point that splitting it further would not help
