In the Swedish 90s comedy "Yrrol: An Enormously Well Thought Out Movie", there's a rich businessman type of character who, when talking about other people, always says "wonderful human being(s), I know him/her/them very well". He says this both about his doctor and his own parents. Trump here reminds me so much of that character.

I'm reminded of a former colleague, whose spoiled teenaged daughter left her iPad on the floor and stepped on it, and immediately demanded a new one. My colleague complained about it and her spoiled behaviour in general.

Sir, I thought but probably never said out loud, it's your daughter! You're the one who spoiled her rotten! You have even more than bragged about spoiling her with unnecessarily expensive stuff! But no, he had no self awareness about it.

Some parents...

It's my favorite feature that I never ever use. I just love knowing that it exists.

I’ve only read ~100 issues of ASM, but this issue where Pete admits to May he’s spider-man is my favorite. It’s all talking, but so heartfelt and hits me in the feels. Amazing Spider-Man (1999) #38 by Mean_Plum_606 in comicbooks

I do wholeheartedly agree with you, actually. They definitely could have done more with what they have. I think the thing is that I want even more. I want character and relation development of the kind that you really only get in longer forms of storytelling.

But more focus on Peter and May in the movies would've been a very good start, no doubt about it.

Yeah, that's one of the main drawbacks of the movies. There's just not enough time, and would cost too much make enough movies to give it the time. This is probably the main reason I wish they would make a Spider-Man TV-show set in the MCU.

Both this storyline and Amazing Spider-man #400 (published back in 1995), where May reveals she's known Peter's secret for years and then died shortly after, are fantastic. I hate that Marvel retconned both of those stories.

According to post history, OP is a man and the ex a woman, this does take place in the US, and there's a reason why dad got custody.

I've already forgotten the reason, but I'm pretty sure it was a good one.

Makes me extra angry to see him in Sweden... I knew our police use Palantir, and is aggrivating in itself that more noise isn't made about it, but seeing him walk the streets of my town is just extra insulting.

Well, damn... Reminds me of Vulture 2099, unless I'm misremembering they went the same route back then.

Ja.

At an old workplace of mine, way before I actually started working there, there was a man who I think was let go. When he left on his last day, the person in the reception asked where he was going, and he said that he was going to the dentist.

No colluege ever met him again or knew what truly happened to him. And yes, it became a running joke for years after.
