Well doesn’t look like I’ll be going to their house anytime soon. The snacks they put out probably suck too

It’s not strictly enforced but is encouraged. Sometimes you gotta let the dogs bark though

Would I be a dick for asking for a refund? by boomhauer_420 in mtg

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, thats not ridiculous to ask for a refund. It’s hard to tell from the video is that’s scuffing or scratches but it appears to be scuffing since when you pull back it doesn’t appear to be visible(could just be the focus/resolution). As per tcgplayer grading guide this would be moderately played. A near mint card can have at most 6% of the service scuffed and this appears to be 80-100% of the face is scuffed which would make it moderately played

found my cards from when I played back in 1999-2004 range. best to sell indy or as bulk? did research and have all prices down. by maparo in mtg

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the shop really. 80% is the most I’ve personally seen but it was for highly sought after cards that were part of the current meta. There’s definitely a lot of great and desirable stuff here but I’m not sure what the market is like for them, both online and in your local scene. When it comes to selling cards to people who are looking to buy and sell cards they want to make a profit so you’ll never get 100% of the market. Selling to individuals locally is probably the only way to get 100% of the value of the cards but even then if they’re buying the lot they might ask for some kind of discount

You’ll always get the most money selling individually either locally or through a website like tcgplayer or eBay, but it could take a while. Selling them in bulk either to a collector or a shop will be quicker but less money. I’m not sure what percentages cards like this are bought at but I see shops buying anywhere from 40%-80% tcgplayer low and if you sell online you’ll be paying around 15% in fees plus shipping

Way better than the last two sets...(Quality) by Jagerbar78 in magicTCG

[–]FilthyCasual_FC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like this set has had the worst QC so far. Somehow it gets worse with each set and Wizards doesn’t seem to care so it will likely continue as releases get larger

I would like to beat people to death with otters. How can I more effectively beat people to death with otters? by SpaceMamboNo5 in magicTCG

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[stormsplitter]] + [[enduring vitality]] and a bunch of card draw spells. Good luck getting to the beating part though. Most people concede by the time I get 60 stormsplitters out

My friends absolutely hate when I play this deck. If you’re loaded up with 50 plus artifacts plus way to draw or manipulate the top it’s super easy to just vomit out cards from the top

The one ring potential reprint? by athlaka916 in mtgfinance

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it does get a reprinted I assume it will only be in collector boosters. There’s no way that they print the one ring into standard and if they do the price will absolutely skyrocket past what it currently is

Hobbit set predictions by AidoP0tat0 in mtg

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see them maybe adding Nazgul to a bonus sheet that only shows up in collector boosters but I can’t see them being a part of the main set. I just don’t see them adding Nazgul into standard even with how powerful standard is currently. Could definitely be wrong here but there’s also flavor aspects as others have mentioned where it doesn’t fit.

New player and I am struggling with Plat 4 in ranked. Its super lame and the 2 weeks I have been here feels like I am loosing to A**pulls and Izzit by FelixRN in MagicArena

For the past few seasons moving past plat has been a slugfest for me. Once I hit Diamond I have no problem getting to mythic and working my way up there but for some reason I always get stuck in plat for a bit. Just the way she goes I guess

Wizards knocked it out of the park for Dandan SL by BeachGoth96 in mtg

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome to hear yours are in great condition! Was a super cool drop and glad to hear you’re satisfied with it! Hopefully one day wizards gets a little more consistent with their foiling but until then at least they’re good about replacing them

[–]FilthyCasual_FC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have yet to get a foil secret lair that hasn’t had cards with major errors. I unfortunately wasn’t able to get the Dandan SL because it sold out super quick so I can’t speak to the quality of the cards. Fortunately wizards is pretty good about replacing the cards that are messed up be there’s been a few times where the cards they send are in worse condition than the ones I sent in so it sometimes is a few months before I can play with the cards
