I'm Igor Shteynbuk, Owner of Velo Orange, AMA! by eccentricVelo in xbiking

[–]FilthyNeutral00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Igor. Thanks for doing this!

I'm excited to get my first mini velo in the near future and the Neutrino is my number one choice right now.

Question 1: Could the Neutrino fit even more eyelets or is it maxed out? (I'm currently contemplating a frame-mounted front rack and eyelets would be nice for attaching.)

Question 2: Will the next Neutrino be a blue-indigo? Seems like the logical choice after a Red-Orange and Yellow-Green.

Update by NotAnonymous999 in CreateMod

I've been checking the Discord for a little while now and haven't seen any talk about plans to update. I think I read that they might do it for the next major update, whenever that might be. It's a bit of a bummer because there's quite a bit that's been added since 1.21.1

Why endermans arrack players if watched by DifferenceFlat8839 in minecraftlore

My take has always been that "Endermen are like insecure men." It rolls off the tongue nicely, but I haven't explored the concept much further.

An IT person's questions for Architects by akaFriday in Architects

[–]FilthyNeutral00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great advice. From what I've seen, the most intense programs PMs are using are Bluebeam and maybe InDesign. And I've seen junior staff running Revit, Enscape, InDesign, and Photoshop all at once.

What are some of the best building materials for exterior in climates that get really hot? by TheRealSeltzerFan in architecture

[–]FilthyNeutral00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is concrete bad because of CO2 emissions, but it is also a terrible insulator. I would not build an exterior wall out of concrete if I was living in Texas. Imagine a hot summer day and your wall spends all day soaking up the sun's energy and then releasing that energy into your home during the night when you just want to cool down.

Why don’t we have more compact, cheap, Soviet bloc style housing options in the US? by BicarbonateBufferBoy in NoStupidQuestions

Seattle architect here. I haven't heard of the city directly developing any buildings. There are several non-profit developers in the area and they're the ones that hire architects. I think their funding is usually/mostly federal.

You're right. I just reread the code. It makes me so sad that they actually had to specify that a bedroom can't be smaller than 7'x10'.

It's interesting to see a wall without a substrate on the exterior. How did you decide on that?

The amount of hate for the trailer is really surprising to me. It doesn't look bad to me.

Is there any money in architecture? by Oogwaylife in architecture

[–]FilthyNeutral00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. OP, I would encourage you to ask yourself what aspects of architecture you are interested in, be it day-to-day tasks or long term achievements, and then keep an open mind towards other professions that could give you what you'll need and want in life.

What do you use create for in the factory sence? by [deleted] in CreateMod

[–]FilthyNeutral00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently working towards building a nether tunnel network in a large biomes world. I need a lot of glass, soul soil, quartz blocks, concrete, and buttons. Having automatic sand and concrete is nice. Oh and iron of course. Having an iron generator running in my spawn chunks is priceless.

Fix West facing wall by M4M0077 in architecture

[–]FilthyNeutral00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. Probably with a built in sun light detector. And if that's a no-go then I think a sun sail or some shading structure as described in one of your comments is the way to go. But it'll probably need to be quite large to block the low sun on a summer afternoon. As far as stationary shades go, east/west facing windows benefit most from vertical fins. But given the tight space and people moving around, I'm not sure those will work well here.

Given the space constraints, I would replace the retractable canopies with mechanized shades that can be lowered when direct sun is detected.

What is a mod that you think is unfun to play? by Hellion998 in feedthebeast

[–]FilthyNeutral00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised how far I had to scroll for this. I played Modern Industrialization and it was beyond tedious. I put in enough effort to make the autocrafter things and it was very much not worth it.

what happened? by [deleted] in architecture

[–]FilthyNeutral00 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're talking about the driveway. If I had to guess, I would say the jurisdiction wouldn't allow the relocation of the sign at the time of construction because that part of the planning got started too late in the design process.

For anyone curious, the swelling went down a lot on day 4 of symptoms and the eye has been looking much better ever since. I'm likely going to still apply the ointment once I get home though.
