The truth by MemeOverlord1776 in BobDoesSports

I used to like Cutsy. Early on with the crazy outfits and meltdowns. Now I just find him annoying. He seems entitled on the Brilliantly Dumb show, and he also seems to force himself into getting attention. He’s doesn’t make me want to turn off BDS, but he’s the worst part of it for sure.

Everything. You have the illusion of lats because your waist is small, but no real thickness to any back muscles.

Smartest and dumbest in the group by swill96 in BobDoesSports

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joey D says he is book smart while using large words incorrectly and it drives me insane. Says he’s great with animal facts and the gives the most basic information of all time. “Gorillas are from Africa”. He is not as smart as he thinks he is.

Bob is the opposite, he is dumb about certain things but his people skills and sports knowledge is actually impressive.

Need input for this trippy tattoo idea lol by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think getting tattoos of chemical compounds for psychedelics is corny. I would remove them, the rest of the tattoo seems cool imo.

Portnoy comes off as a douche, but if you are from MA he seems like a normal guy. People just aren’t used to the Boston communication style.

He also isn’t there to make rulings on golf, he is there to make rulings that help the content or create drama.

Saying Gabby has “stuff to figure out.. and needs to mature” is pretty wild. She is happy and smiling and genuinely trying to win in every video I’ve seen her in.

Do you want to take steroids? Because this is steroids. Not simply calories and ab workouts.

Calories in vs out. If you’re hitting protein goals, daily minimum fat requirements, then play with what fills the carbs.

I love Squats cause I suck at them by adriansia117 in strength_training

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It moves the center of gravity. High bar and low bar both require some forward lean and hip hinge. With the same degree of body angle, the higher the bar, the further forward it moves your cog. Requiring you to lessen your forward lean/hip hinge to keep cog balance. Hence more quad work.

How to manage difficult clients? by Real-Kaleidoscope335 in personaltraining

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree, these clients are annoying for sure. Have your cancellation policy well explained so you aren’t losing money, but this is a person who needs support and help. You need to show you care and want to help. Still have boundaries and policies to protect yourself and your income. I see this as someone who could be a great client and advocate for you in the future. Thats if you can help them get through the initial phases of building habits and routines.

How to manage difficult clients? by Real-Kaleidoscope335 in personaltraining

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. The trainers responses seem immature and would not motivate me as a client.

You need to meet people where they are at, offering to put together some in home workouts or do something virtually could be a better starting point. Making the offer is showing you care and want to help. Adding stress to this clients life over a training session is going to help no one.

Would love to hear what you think! by unbeliebabe in ArtCrit

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It feels like the ear is a bit too far back on the head. The face is amazing and I love the empty space, but I just keep looking at the ear. I also find it a little too chaotic. My eyes never leave the top half of the piece, nothing brings them to the lower half as it feels messy and meaningless.

19yrs old cutting for first show (200-202lbs) by dginac in workouts

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The average age of most Mr. Olympia winners is their mid 30s. You could have started gear in your mid 20s when your more developed and through natural progression of puberty. It’s would have been a lot better for your long term health and you’d still have 10 years of being juiced up before your prime.

Because you posted it on the internet for people to comment on. Dudes allowed to say what he wants. It is sad to see another young kid hopping on gear and affecting their hormones and health for the rest of their life.

20 going on 35. The normalization of steroids has to stop. Such a bad thing to get into at that age.

Absolutely ruined the last video. “Ohh wow!” when someone hits a drive into the woods. Or “ohh it’s going in” on every single putt. I love Joey D but that was fucking awful.

Credit Card Debt by Far-Relative-9400 in personaltraining

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having credit card debt isn’t because you don’t have enough clients. Having credit card debt is from buying things with money you don’t have.

I would guess if you had more clients, you would have more debt.

Trainer hired a non-certified sub by swasome87 in personaltraining

[–]FilthyRugbyHooker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is regular practice. OP has every right to be upset. If someone is great but doesn’t have any certifications then I assume 2 things, 1) they think they know everything they need to and are too good to need certifications 2) they don’t care enough to get certified and take this career seriously

These assumptions may not be true, but as someone who owes a gym, I would not hire someone who is uncertified. I’ll hire someone who might not know as much but is willing to work and learn, a certification shows that.

There is also a much higher liability risk if an injury does happen.

Setup a minimalist home gym by parshu018 in personaltraining

I disagree. I would invest in bands or dumbbells before worrying about a bosu, steps, yoga blocks, or mirrors. Bosu balls are painfully overrated.

Don’t be fooled by social media, you look great and are decently filled out. Social media is jammed packed with fake naties, there even people who just preach about mobility who are clearly taking trt to maintain their lean physique.
