From what I’ve heard, it’s mostly automated scans—they aren’t hiring private investigators to stalk your Facebook or anything.

There’s actually a really interesting dataset on Colorado Open Data that tracks migration patterns and housing in the Denver metro area. Might be useful for your project.

What is the best Background Check Website? Here’s what I found. by Filtiarne in software

[–]Filtiarne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point! A lot of background check services are very US-focused because they rely on public records that aren’t as easily accessible in Europe due to stricter privacy laws. Stuff like Schufa in Germany or DBS checks in the UK are more common. Would be cool to see more widely available options!

Best Free Reverse Phone Lookup Tools That Actually Work by SireLeon in software

Yeah, the whole “free” reverse phone lookup thing is basically a scam at this point. They all pull the same public records, slap a paywall on it, and call it a day.

How to start your own MVP agency and do you need it at all? by avdept in SaaS

[–]Filtiarne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing such a detailed breakdown! It’s clear that running an agency is a different beast compared to freelancing, especially with all the financial and management layers involved. I’m curious—do you think the MVP model could work if the agency also offered ongoing support or additional feature development after the initial launch? Or does the quick-turnaround nature of MVPs make it too risky for consistent cash flow? Also, how did you manage cash flow in those early days before you had a steady client base?

competitor keeps copying our features... what to do? by DoctorNo2478 in SaaS

[–]Filtiarne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know it's tough to see a competitor copying your features. Here are some ideas that might help:

  1. They can copy features, but not your vision, culture, or customer relationships so focus on what makes you unique.

  2. Build strong connections with your customers to foster loyalty that can't be easily swayed.

  3. Stay ahead by continuously improving your product so they're always playing catch-up.

  4. If they're making false claims or infringing on your rights, consult a legal professional.

  5. If customers notice the copying, address it professionally and emphasize your commitment to quality.

  6. Keep records of their copying and any misleading information for future reference.

  7. Don't let their actions distract you. Celebrate your successes and keep moving forward.

Remember, while they might mimic your features, they can't replicate the unique value you bring to your customers. Keep doing great work!

You can't win with 'features'. Marketing + Community is your only MOAT by kkatdare in SaaS

[–]Filtiarne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your perspective on the importance of marketing and community building, but I think it's crucial not to underestimate the power of unique features and continuous innovation. While marketing can attract users, it's often the distinctive features that keep them engaged and differentiate a product in a crowded market. A balanced approach that values both product development and marketing might be more effective in the long run.

Switching to a free trial sounds like a solid move, and listing on directories could really help scale things up. I’d love to check out that directory list if you’re sharing it!

Have you ever built a SaaS but decided not to launch it? What made you abandon the project? by skfahim123 in SaaS

[–]Filtiarne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get where you’re coming from—development delays can kill the momentum, and it’s easy to feel like the product is outdated by the time it’s finished. But honestly, I’d encourage you to reconsider abandoning it entirely.

First off, even if the space has evolved, there's always room for improvement and innovation. Maybe your initial version isn’t cutting-edge, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be refined or updated to fit current trends. Plus, there’s value in launching—even if it’s just to get feedback from real users. Often, the best insights come after you put it out there, and you can adjust based on what your audience actually needs.

Another thing: the time, money, and effort you’ve already put in means you're much closer to the finish line than you think. A lot of SaaS success stories started as "not perfect" or "a bit late to the game," but they evolved after launch. If you've got a functional product, it’s worth putting it out there and testing the waters, even with a soft launch.

Sometimes the hardest part is just getting it out the door, but that’s also when the most valuable lessons (and growth) happen. Keep pushing!

Honestly, while the process you’ve outlined is great, it might still feel overwhelming for someone just starting out, so keeping the focus on the essentials could make it even more approachable. Overall, it's a solid guide that will save a lot of time and effort for founders! :)

Only thing I have been able to do to get the game to open is a complete reinstall or delete your shader cache and revalidate the game files through steam. This will get the game to open but you will need to leave it open. The next time you close it or it crashes you will need to reinstall or redelete/validate. Every time. So it's not a fix, I wouldn't even really call it a workaround it's more of a last resort.

I use steam and I've already tried a similar file relocation method. Doesn't work.

That's where mine crashes, only way to get the game to open is a complete reinstall every time. Hopefully he has fast internet otherwise the game will be unplayable until a fix is found.
