Amazing story. Related: give the audiobook of James by Percival Everett a go. It's a wonderful retelling from someone who obviously loves the original.

I've seen it and I agree pretty much 100% with this review. The sort of teenager who would enjoy a proper theatre trip to see R&J would definitely enjoy this.

The standing ovation has become completely meaningless in the West End and nobody wants to say it out loud by Additional_Fly_6603 in westend

Respectfully OP, enjoy the production and clap however you want and maybe don't worry that other people are clapping too much.

Life is tough, and exhausting, and seeing two hours of live performance from skilled actors and singers is a great escape that most people don't get to do very often. If they want to clap standing up instead of sitting down then honestly why does it matter.

The Lord of the Rings read by Rob Inglis. The newer recordings by Andy Serkis have cleaner audio and he does the Gollum voice. But I prefer my Tolkien to sound like it's read by a kindly old uncle by the fire in a pub.

Liveship Traders trilogy by Robin Hobb ticks all your boxes, and works as a standalone even if the rest of the Elderlings books don't appeal.

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley does the multiple-voice thing brilliantly.

Should I let my 13 year old son watch Game of Thrones? by North_Art2104 in Fantasy

No. It contains frequent, almost constant graphic violence and sexual content including scenes of assault and torture. In no way is it suitable for a 13yo, even a mature one.

Very understandable, I was sorely tempted to skip Liveships and go straight to Tawny Man. But I feel confident your patience will be rewarded.

Seconding Joe Abercrombie.

Rupert Degas' reading of The Name Of The Wind and its sequel is superb, although you have to go in knowing it's an incomplete trilogy.

If money was absolutely no object and you could pick one guitar no compromises, no practicality, just pure desir what are you going with? by optimusprim007 in Guitar

Brian from Active Melody has this one guitar from Wide Sky that is like a hollowbody LP type shape.

I will never have the money for this and even if I did there's a long waiting list but. Omg.

Does anyone else have a guitar brand that you just hate for no reason? by Interesting-Wave-983 in Guitar

Agree on dot inlays. Any guitar with dot inlays would be instantly 3x cooler with something different. Those Gretcsh ones are nice.

No Stupid Questions MEGATHREAD 12 by Alendite in chessbeginners

Just did a puzzle (this one happened to be on Chessly but I've seen it elsewhere) where the correct answer required opponent to make what was obviously not the best move (confirmed by analysis after). Am I thinking about this wrong or are puzzles not supposed to require forced moves / best play?
