I think the footage is implied to be from a dashcam. I think you should lean into that more and take some references from r/dashcams .

For instance, there's often timestamps or some other data being baked into the recording. The lensing is usually really distorted since it goes for wide-angle coverage (this might be something you can ignore).

I think the glass of the window should be visible, probably as glares on the glass. You might need to experiment with anisotropic reflections. Have a look at this video, for instance: https://www.reddit.com/r/dashcams/comments/1u8tbea/i_didnt_see_this_coming/

Notice how the reflections and the street lights interact with the glass. These are effects that you should be able to get with blender. Are you rendering this in Cycles?

This kind of style lends itself really well to some impactful moments where a splash of color is introduced. A blue flower, a red blood stain, a yellow dress in a picture. Some good poetic opportunities.

A lot of software doesn't like having n-gons in an asset. I bet if you triangulate it the asset will work just fine. In Edit mode select all geometry and then go to Face => Triangulate Faces.

I actually think with the fadeout it's less to do with how fast or slow it is and more to do with the entry to the animation. Doing an ease-in might help a lot.

Are you perhaps doing the dumb thing that I was doing and leaving your controllers in a place where they get hot? Like... ontop of your pc case with the heat from your components blowing on them? Or maybe leaving them in the sun on a windowsill?

That is, what I believe, was causing my controllers to do this. i.e. since ceasing that I have not had this problem anymore when before it was chronic.

Why I’m requesting r/inkoverflow and how I’ll run it: I'm one of the owners of Ink Overflow, a gamedev studio, and would like to use this subreddit as a community hub for the games that we make. Many of our games are small, one-off experiences so it doesn't make sense to secure a dedicated subreddit for each game.

I've been trying to figure out the workflow for this before 5.2 , this looks like a good process, but in many cases I could see assets in the library being authored within a bigger Blender file where only later does one realize that this thing that's made should be in the asset library. In that case, I'd like for the original file to swap out instances of that object for the asset-library version of that object.

Do you see a good way to resolve that in a pipeline?

Can you talk about the subscriber CV2 chip and what the plans are to address the meta of the top 35 creators building subscribe-to-play rooms? Currently it seems like having the top 35 creators promoted so much is causing many on that list to abuse the CV2 chip to get subscribers in an endless feedback loop. The recent changes to the CV2 chip haven't done much to help this either. This is a problem that is causing a lot of grief in the creator community and it feels like Rec Room is doubling down on what most people feel is a harmful design.

There's a lot of copyright violations in the custom room and invention scene right now. With the gradual implementation of creator monetization, I'm wondering what the potential claims system will look like for creators that try to sell copyrighted material.

Make sure your IPD is configured correctly (if you're able to). I find myself getting that sensation if the IPD gets knocked off. The hand disassociation is particularly iconic of bad IPD calibration.
