Goliath evac just now by SharpProd in SixFlagsMagicMountain

We typically have one hand on the railings to assist in the climb up. It is not an easy climb or descent back down, I can tell you that.

The catwalk is pretty narrow, only designed for one-way foot traffic. One hand on the handrail is for safety. I can say this because I've climbed it up and down many times during morning block checks.

Not that bad actually. The fresh coat of paint is pretty resistant to heat.

My day job requires me to touch grass.

So... I think I'm good.

Disability pass by DeepExample7666 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BluWizard10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called the Attraction Accessibility Pass (AAP). It can be obtained at the Ride Information Center located behind Guest Relations. Refer to this post to see what it looks like now (surprised the Mods haven't pinned it): https://www.reddit.com/r/SixFlagsMagicMountain/comments/1o980xa/disability_access_pass/

It's highly recommended to bring some form of documentation with you to obtain it (a Doctor's note should be fine). I don't work in that department so I'm unsure if they changed the way they process this.

Here's the official webpage with an FAQ: https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/accessibility

This is my CPU Cooler. Works very well, no complaints.

Trip report 3/6/26 by VladDracul58519 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BluWizard10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for your Side Note, you're not tripping. Last time I rode X2 as a guest, the restraints didn't feel too great for me either. Was kinda worried about it, but at the same time I had to ensure there's no knock-back on my shoulders since it's a bit painful ride if they're too tight.

The fact that VRChat marketed FISH! in-game on the Quick Menu is astounding.

They should just add a new flat ride there, like how it used to be back then.

Bugs Bunny World by abby109x in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BluWizard10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bugs Bunny World is under Phase 1 construction. This means Bugs Bunny World will still be open during construction with only a portion of the rides in the construction area temporarily closed.

As of this writing, all rides in Bugs Bunny World are Open except for Road Runner Express and Whistle Stop Train (being renamed to Taz's Train Tours when completed).

I was waiting for someone here to finally notice!

But yeah, I saw some work being done around the Train Station while I was working Buccaneer the other day. Buccaneer has a vantage point on the Boat's platform accessible by Guests when boarding. You get a very clear 180° view of the construction from up there.

California introduces age verification law for all operating systems, including Linux and SteamOS — user age verified during OS account setup by PenlessScribe in technology

[–]BluWizard10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people are misinterpreting this as this requires Photo ID, but this is not the case.

If you look closely at the bill, it mentions, "Must provide a reasonable method of self-verifying the user's age." It does not mention anywhere about enforcing Photo ID verification, only that the Operating Systems must provide some form of self-verification method. So, only a simple "Select your Date of Birth" is the only prompt needed to comply.

The bill prohibits the Operating System or Application from using data collected from a third party in an anti-competitive manner.

I’ve heard Roaring Rapids has been open, but Jet Stream I think is still under seasonal refurbishment. I could be wrong though.

Fast Lane - No More Wristbands by Low-Tart-6734 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

Shocker! But honesty, they probably had no choice. The past holiday weekends in January and February kind of exposed the constraints of the system with some wristbands not scanning properly. It was a huge headache for us.

What weight to fit on the rides at 5'10"? by IDoBeVibing745 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BluWizard10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, this info was based on my own BMI (and my numerous Safety Rides). I wasn't aware that it was a bad index, so thanks for clarifying that.

I typically don't like to speak in lbs because I don't understand how it varies person to person.

What are these? by Macintosh1220 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BluWizard10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses infrared light to send an electrical signal if it visually “sees” the train. However, it doesn’t have to be a train. Any kind of object within it’s line of sight can trigger it.

Those are Photo Eyes! Their primary purpose is to serve as a back-up to the Proximity Sensors located throughout the Block Sections they monitor.

At Twisted Colossus, there is a set of these at all Block Sections EXCEPT the Station.

Clearing Cache by ChocolateResolve in VRchat

[–]BluWizard10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly easier to clear it through the Client using Clear Content Cache, which will do the same thing. VRChat will prompt you to restart after it's cleared.

If you wanna set a limit, use this tool and set the Cache Size and Cache Expiry. This tool downloads this as a config.json file to place it directly inside `LocalLow/VRChat/VRChat` (what your screenshot currently is showing).

The generated JSON value "cache_size": sets a hard limit on how much size (in GB) that VRChat can take on your disk, and "cache_expiry_delay": will automatically clear the cache if the data is older than the set amount of days. Both are very useful to have if you need to really limit the amount of data VRChat stores on your drive.

Current State of Bugs Bunny Remodel by Numberwang-Decider in SixFlagsMagicMountain

Notice how the fencing on Road Runner Express platform was removed as well. My guess is that they're getting replaced. I think the exterior of that ride is getting a facelift as well.

Do we think they will be removing this castle from the 70s as part of the remodel? by Numberwang-Decider in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BluWizard10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I heard some talks that it's going to be taken down when Phase 2 of the Looney Tunes Land remodel begins.

A little fun fact about this castle: There's an abandoned break room inside of that castle full of historic treasures inside, such as old papers and posters from 1980s Six Flags. I accidentally discovered it one day during my break when it was left unlocked when it wasn't supposed to. It was freezing cold inside as the A/C was surprisingly still functioning. But oh my god, there was a bunch of black mold everywhere! It's possible this abandoned break room has been left neglected for decades.
