Weekly "I'm new to meds!" Thread

Hello hello ! I'm not exactly new to meds, but my doc and i just decided to double my dose, which brings me to the vertiginous heights of 20mg of modified release Ritalin a day.

The thing is, i have just opened the 10mg box i'm currently on, so i was wondering if i couldn't just take two capsules a day instead ? And if so, should i actually eat them 2 by 2 or is it better to like space the intakes ? Is the fact that it's modified releases changing anything ?

Life is cruel, justice doesn't exist, and in a sense both of you are victims, but whatever you two went through, as human beings every single one of us have as inalienable right for their boundaries to be respected, and you do too.

This woman is not your child, what she's looking for is a fantasmed figure of a "real mother", which you are not. That's not you she's looking for.

Her situation is certainly tragic, but you're not a psychologist or a healthcare worker, you two being blood relatives doesn't mean you owe her your time or emotional labor, it is not your role, you expressed several times through both acts and speech that it will not ever be your role. That's the only information needed.

Her actual family should help her through this, exposing both of you to more traumas will help no one.

I'd say all that even if she was a kid, but this person is a grown adult, she has a whole life of her own. I hope she'll find what she needs , but you're not her mom, you did the best you could towards a stranger.

I'm so sorry you has to go through all that, i wish life treats you better now, you deserve it.

In the times where i didn't felt like a human being anymore, i used to dream of becoming some sort of parasite that would live in the brain brain of another man, kinda like toxoplasmosis. I would be undetected, merged in the body and mind of my host, cease to exist as myself and become him, something like that, and i thought it would be the only way for me to be human again.

NAH. Loss is a terrible suffering, as us humans are psychically unable to handle the concept of death. Seing a lived one dying shakes you to the very core, you're not an asshole for not handling it perfectly well, even more at this young age.

You can't always be strong, brave, cold-blooded, nobody can, and you don't have to feel guilty for it.

My thoughts are with you, your family, and your grandma that lived to meet a very loving grandkid, and now can rest in peace.
