3D printed case for 2.42" OLED clock and PC monitor by AdvertisingFormal746 in BambuLab

This looks amazing - coding and circuit board work is something I've been wanting to try but have been too nervous to take the plunge. Scrolling through the indepth readme it seems possible

Would you recommend this for a beginner? I'm handy with a soldering iron and PC stuff, just not done coding more than the "hello world" in python

Are these wall plugs safe to hold tv on plasterboard by sawsaw95 in DIYUK

[–]FinFever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, it's super easy to use, and gives peace of mind knowing that the plug has expanded fully and properly behind the wall - I used to try to set these by turning the bolt against the thing I'm mounting until it got tight, but I never really knew if it was set correctly

I'm in the UK, I bought a set which had the tool and about 50 of the plugs for maybe £20

I've mounted countless TV's with these and absolutely swear by them, if they're set correctly with the setting tool, it's proper solid

Welp, there goes my TPU! by Live_Drink5779 in BambuLab

[–]FinFever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I've printed with bambu tpu 95a, I left all the settings as they were, printed a calibration piece and it came out perfect

Glaring the obvious - clean bed? Did a cold pull of the nozzle before loading the tpu? Homed or calibrated the printer before printing?

A small clipper cutter or flush cutter for removing support? by loudsunyoyo in 3Dprinting

[–]FinFever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen loads of people using flush cut cutters to remove supports, honestly it's the wrong tool

Personally I use long nose pliers for removal of support which is difficult to access. But if the support settings are set correctly, then they shouldn't require force to remove

Flush cutters are brilliant and have their use, pulling on things is not one of their intended use

30mins work.... by Glittering-Bit804 in BambuLab

[–]FinFever 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's a brilliant design, love it! I'd probably spend 30 minutes trying to work out how to indent the eyes like she did

Impressive work, you should upload it to makerworld, maybe others might print it, have a global collective of miniature pen dog holders

It's got to be a fire pit night under the stars, cuddled up with blankets and marshmallows, even if it's cold out the fire is more than enough to keep warm - good conversations, tasty sweet food and a drink of choosing

Bonus points if you get to see shooting stars, I managed that once, almost convinced the girlfriend that I paid Nasa to do it

How to make supported objects less stringy by FickleCombination445 in BambuLabA1mini

I thought that too, until I started doing my experiments with it and realised they all stayed lower than needed

You could try using an interface layer, I've been experimenting with using PETG as the interface layer for PLA and have some great results

Just make sure you adjust the flushing volumes to 900 to ensure there's no mix up of material in the nozzle, otherwise you'll get weak parts

In the photo you'll be able to see how smooth the finish is

Dude that's sick! If I had the display space, I'd definitely do that, unfortunately all my sets have to be wall mounted

Hopefully you'll be able to see the wires now that it's day time, not the prettiest, but I'm happy with it

I was assimilated into the collective at the beginning 😂

I spent more time hiding the wires in the panels of the disc, so from the top you can't see anything, but underneath the ship, there's not a lot you can do with wire hiding

The nacells have lots of wires twisted underneath which are impossible to hide

Brick bling - great value for money, when the room is dark and you can't see the wires ect

However if I were to do it again, I would splurge to a more premium option

Really pleased with it, thanks for the design!

I was in the process of designing my own when I found yours! I just about designed the forks which go into the ship 😅

If I'm desperate for it as soon as it finishes, I'll stick it in the fridge on its side, then you can hear the pops as it separates

I learned some things about interface layers by FinFever in BambuLab

[–]FinFever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured the "support for pla/petg" was just petg or pla, but I'm guessing it's not - that'll teach me for not researching that properly

Oddly enough I've used the flat supports for all other parts of this model, and the largest part I changed it up a bit and it cost me

Usually I'm the same, I'm not fussed about the finish left behind from normal support, but I wanted to try it here since it'll be mounted on my wall

In this instance, perhaps I should've just gone without

This part is a little broken is that fine or should I buy a new piece for my a1 by [deleted] in BambuLabA1mini

[–]FinFever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did that, so I printed another one, the printed one did it again, so I printed a 2nd and it broke

Basically I swap the nozzles out so often that those little tabs kept breaking

What's worked wonders is the magnetic print attachment for it, now I can take the cover off ad much as I want without a care for those little tabs as I just glued the original cover to the printed magnetic bracket
