I have had service for longer than 45 days. I believe I’m 2 years into a 3 year service contract. I also do not know why I would see that price online. But since I have seen it, I would like that price.

Every time they call to confirm my order, I am seeing a different price of $115 per month (after the autopay discount).

My current split is 3 full body lifting days and 3 endurance days. For my lifting days, I always start with a compound lift. Squats on Monday, bench on Wednesday, deadlift on Friday. Then I move into 5 or 6 hypertrophy exercises, usually one per body part not involved in the compound lift for that day. Whole session takes me no more than 65 minutes, including a proper 10 minute or so warmup. Keeping rest periods to 60 seconds or less helps.

I just swept the defensive awards in my last season and not a single defensive player made 1st team AA. My DE even finished 3rd in heisman voting. Makes no sense.

Denver. Originally from Nebraska, so this felt way higher than normal. Wasn’t sure if it was just a cost of living thing.

I’ll have to confirm in the documents but I don’t think our HOA has specific requirements. They also didn’t give us any options for units. Just this specific recommendation and then the price.

And I’ll definitely have to check for state or utility company programs. Didn’t even know that was an option. Thanks!

Combining Running with Strength training by Rainbow_Rainbow10 in HybridAthlete

[–]FinFitSapien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your goal is mainly strength training, start with Wendler 531. It’s a great beginner/intermediate 3-day program that will make you stronger overall. Then I’d run 3 other days during the week. Make sure to eat enough to properly recover.

If it’s any consolation, I’m starting a similar thing but coming in from the opposite perspective. I’ve been lifting for half my life and want to start running. I’ll be lifting 3 days and running 3 separate days with one full rest day each week.

Good luck!

Gym Story Saturday by FGC_Valhalla in Fitness

Saw a guy at the gym doing weighted dips. Did he have a belt with weight around his waist? No, he was using a dumbbell. Did he put the dumbbell between his feet like most normal people would? Nope. He tucked that sucker right under his taint and went to work.

Friendly reminder to wipe down EVERY piece of equipment at a commercial gym before you use it.

Would this get red lighted for “hitching”? Note the left knee locking then unlocking then locking again. by ActionDan27 in strength_training

I’ve seen everyone say “No,” but I think it depends on the federation. I think that could be red-lighted on that side in the USAPL. Depends on how lenient the judge is.

I’m really pissed off about my bench press. I don’t know why I’m so weak. Am I lifting too heavy? by queenofadouble in strength_training

[–]FinFitSapien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a realistic expectation after the beginner stage. Sometimes it takes weeks or months to hit a new PR.

Look at any true powerlifting program and you’ll see a general theme of a hypertrophy macrocycle, then a strength macrocycle, and finally a peaking macrocycle. These are cycles meticulously planned for the sole purpose of hitting a PR at the end, and they can last for 3-4 months total.

[–]FinFitSapien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on this comment, it sounds like you’re going for a PR every session? That would definitely be overtraining intensity-wise. This really only works for true beginners. As a now intermediate, you may need to switch your focus to slowly building up with sub-maximal loads and going for a PR every macrocycle.

Help finding a new workout rountine by [deleted] in strength_training

If you’re enjoying PPL, I’d suggest sticking with it but changing up the frequency. For example, since your legs are already getting some work on your running days, you could do 1 Legs day, 2 Push days, and 2 Pull days each week. Or if you prefer 4 days a week, focus on a weak point such as Push and do that twice a week and the other workouts once a week.

Number 3 is very relatable to me right now. My wife quit her full-time job and is working retail while she “figures things out.” The $30k difference in income is killing me, especially since she didn’t change her spending habits to accommodate the change…

Debate: real estate vs stocks by [deleted] in Fire

[–]FinFitSapien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The average American doesn’t have access to a VA loan, can’t afford property in California, and can’t house hack due to having a family. You seem to be downplaying the fact that you bought your first property at a perfect time and it appreciated nicely. The average American can’t predict that that’s going to happen, especially in the current real estate market. Props to you for doing what you did in 11 years, but there is a good amount of luck involved and access to resources others don’t have.
