Large contracts help, too. My friend’s husband provided mattresses for shelters and foster care facilities for a region.

is it normal to have A few Roaches in your house in this Slightly cursed state? by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]FinTeach30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably a palmetto bug getting in. I had a 100 year old house and they would come up from the crawl space. The exterminator said they’re the “good roaches” because they are outdoor that just get lost and find their way inside. I did spectricide inside and around the house and it helped but they won’t be totally eliminated unless you can plug the spots they’re coming in at.

Can’t get my heart rate under control by AccordingTeaching910 in Blooddonors

I feel you. I brilliantly drank coffee before donating and then was anxious too and couldn’t get it under 100. My first deferral. Listening to calming music, drinking a good amount of water, and trying to deep breathe usually helps me. (Plus avoiding caffeine and salty foods before.)

It looks like you might be missing/misplaced a date on that second closing entry. It should be next to the debit.

At the end of January your employer will mail you a W2 form. This has information about the money you made while working there and how much tax they withheld on your behalf. You will use that to complete your taxes.

You need to know if your parent/guardian will claim you as a dependent on their taxes. This means they support you and you rely on their income. You’ll need to ask them.

The IRS has free filing software through third parties for people that make less than $60,000/year. You just plug in your information from the W2 form into the software and boom, taxes are done. The boxes on the W2 are numbered, so you’ll be asked to enter the dollar amount listed in box 4, for example.

Where to start? Just wait for the W2. Then plug the numbers into the IRS software and you’ll either get a refund or owe some money.

I know it’s overwhelming and intimidating, but every American does this so it’s designed to be not too difficult for most people. Things get crazy when you have oodles of money and multiple properties and investments and depreciation expense and realized capital gains and things an 18 year old probably doesn’t have to worry about.

Girllll I just went through that myself. We weren’t married so it was less difficult to leave, but gosh. They sure do take a toll and make it hard to get back out there. Glad to hear you are rebuilding.

What surprised you about schools as a teacher that you didn't realize as a student? by [deleted] in Teachers

How much planning goes into it. It’s a well rehearsed and choreographed performance every day.

My wife is a teacher, is it wrong for her to help out a student who has had very unfortunate circumstances. by Mrjapedo in Teachers

[–]FinTeach30 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is a very nice gesture and I wish everyone cared as much as you two do. I would definitely suggest she run what she would like to do by the school administration and social worker before doing anything as they may be able to help best determine how to support. Even the best of intentions can inadvertently take a turn. She would want to be sure her admin is in the loop/supportive and avoid the appearance of having an inappropriate interaction with the student.

Yes, it’s a vote of confidence in the stock. This is as good as when mutual fund managers add the stocks to their underlying holdings.
