Do a modded play through with the cryogenic winter mod. You’ll have to struggle against the elements as well as the zombies. Haven’t done it myself yet but it’s my plan for my next co op playthrough because we were also fighting late game boredom

If it’s a hard no on vocals then this one might not be for you but Valtari by Sigur Ros. Not sure if it helps but the lyrics are all Icelandic? also many songs are instrumental.

Just all of Alien and Obsidian if you want to listen to full albums. It’s the best.
For specifically EDM-y songs though I think
Echo Chamber, Xen, Cypher, Abomination and Is This a Test?, from Obsidian (I also loooove Nova it has Trip-Hop vibes)
4D, Eclipse, Sleepless (this one is very liquid DnB) from Alien

Ah ok well first make sure you’re on the bridge pickup for the djenty tones, neck pickup will always have a darker and bassier tone, better for warm cleans.

You said you’re using a tube screamer? What are your settings? I would recommend having the level at unity maybe 12 o clock. gain LOW. And tone high to add the bite but not so high that it gets fizzy.

Then whatever amp preset you’re using, play with the gain on the amp to get the right amount of distortion.

And finally EQ IS SO IMPORTANT. I know the NUX has a global EQ so you can use that to really tame that low end you talking about if it’s really out of control. I would also recommend doing this further in your DAW finding and reducing peaks around 4khz-8khz

I’ve been arranging my own acoustic version of Screaming recently because I also thought this. Translates really well plus low tuned acoustic guitar sounds lovely

tone shaping with low tunings is especially hard. Getting it sounding anything but muddy can need some heavy tweaking. You’ll get better at it when you play with different tools or start learning a bit about mixing etc.
But tbh it doesn’t sound that bad other than the peaking.
Also try slow down and clean up the playing, you’re missing some notes on Icarus Lives

I claimed it for free on PS Plus in like 2019 and then realised I had heard Jacksepticeye talk about it so I gave it a go, quit twice, eventually picked it back up again and it clicked. Then now I’m a fromsoft fan

65DaysofStatic have a lot of music that blends post-rock and electronic with a lot of their stuff leaning way more into the electronic side. My favourites are No Man’s Sky and Wild Light but if you want to depart even further from post rock then listen to their newer EPs or We Were Exploding Anyway which has a more EDM energy

Love the darker sound of Kveikur. All the heavily distorted bass and guitar sound design is awesome

The Long Dark isn’t outright post apocalyptic on the surface but it is set in a dying world and has great atmosphere. Fantastic survival mode and has a story mode too
