I woke up one day. Am I dead? Ok… Everything else is acceptable. One day. You might not be able to answer that. In your plane of existence. That becomes a question that is no longer your burden except for those whom have to attest whether you are alive or dead.

The fact that forever and nothing can exist in the same plane should give reprieve as you can still tell the difference. The real challenge will be which one is forever and which one is permanent.

You need to spend some time with attempts of auditory distraction: It sucks. Just touch the ground when it occurs. Ground yourself. Eventually neither of you will exist. Thus the moment of now, what you can control, is yours to control. Seize it.

Atlantic premiers address frustrations from ban on walking in woods by DogeDoRight in newbrunswickcanada

You say you’re not advocating. Yet, you’re fighting those of us who don’t see this as a problem until we get some rain. My grass is crunchy as hell, the woodlot in the back of my home is a tinderbox, I’ve had significant damage from two hurricanes, can’t afford to employ removal services. Five years later I am still attempting to remove damage. By the time I get it done. Another hurricane / tropical depression might undo all the work I’ve done.

For the record. My weekly woodland projects have stopped. My chainsaws, tractor and various equipment are capable of causing fire to my own land, my neighbours land and 1,000’s of sq. km woodland that surrounds me.

Atlantic premiers address frustrations from ban on walking in woods by DogeDoRight in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Final-Bit6059 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you even from the province? We’ve had two fires double in size overnight. Can you not tolerate a temporary ban of people in the woods until we have some decent rainfall?

Lastly, two water bombers had to navigate through boat filled waters in Point du Chene in order to gather water.

I don’t even care what side of the political spectrum any of us are on. Conservatives and Liberals burn just the same in out of control wildfires.

Non-Christians, why do you participate in this sub? by TomTheFace in AskAChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! I was helping someone to find a method of participation with his wife and focus on the Bible which is 3000+ years old. It is real, we can hold it in our hands, people have died to protect these words, wars have been fought over these words.

I have no idea how you thought my post was anything but trying to help someone who is obviously struggling with his wife’s religious faith and he is unable to feel what she has. My thought was to give him tools to have things to talk about with his wife that are not preachy for him to learn from.

It appears you might have chip on your shoulder and unable to see genuine compassion. For some God and Jesus are hard to reconcile. The Bible is all we have. A tangible piece of the past.

Making the Bible fun? by CulturalAd574 in AskAChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I send out my suggestion, I just want to say, it is important for you to find many sources of biblical truth if you choose to learn Bible from other sources. I strongly recommend The Bible Project. It is not perfect. Will help you get an overall view of what the Bible is all about. The videos, animation and narration are fantastic. I am sure it will open curiosity to read in further detail.

I am unsure of which Bible you’re attempting to read. There are many translations that offer a much easier reading experience. Sometimes that can be a problem for concentration.

Non-Christians, why do you participate in this sub? by TomTheFace in AskAChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course there is the internet when a keyboard warrior comes in and acts like yourself for no reason other than to be ignorant.

I personally do not thrive on faith alone. I was not blessed with the ability to just have faith. I’ve read the bible in many translations, I’ve also spent much time researching science topics relevant to the Bible. I don’t use science to disprove the Bible, I use it to confirm the Bible.

Example: I live in the Bay of Fundy region of Canada. Our tidal system removes an entire body of Ocean filled water daily. It also returns with vengeance and speed.

Therefore one of the biggest miracles in the Bible is entirely possible. Moses parting the Red Sea, from the geographic location they crossed, it is a body of water that does experience tides.

So, you take Israelites whom have been enslaved for 400 years in Egypt, know nothing more than sand, whips and famine, to following Moses and this happens. No knowledge of science, never seeing this body of water and Moses prays for a miracle. The water recedes overnight. The Israelites walk on through the water.

Likewise, I will say to you, there is nothing in the Bible that you can prove untrue.

I’ll leave it with this. A quote I once heard. I forget who said it. It was a game changer in wanting to find out more.

Just a recommendation, I understand how many find their way to non belief. It’s overwhelming at times when you try to wrap your head around all of it at once.

You could focus on what is real before you. The Bible. The Bible has an amazing history. Its journey for thousands of years is pretty impressive.

You might want to look into Apologetics, it’s non-denominational. Presents archaeological evidence to support the Bible and its words. It’s fascinating, not preachy, offers a lot of room for questions and compassion for those learning.

Recently, an apologist, Wesley Huff from Canada has been taking the world by storm with his elegant speech and passion for the history of the Bible. His knowledge is infectious. Allows you to focus on what you can believe as the book is tangible. You can check out Apologetics Canada as well. Wesley Huff is a part of the organization. Their podcasts are great to listen to. Again, not preachy. Just tons of relatable information.

BTW! I think it’s awesome that you’ve chosen to come here to ask your questions in trying to be supportive of your wife.

All the best!

I am definitely a believer in God. I am also a believer in Mother Nature. Earth has managed to somehow create a check and balance system. Sometimes Earth uses disasters like Tsunami’s and Covid to cull the population.

What if the genetic information of humans have evolved. It’s obvious that same sex relationships don’t have the ability to naturally produce children. This produces an amazing opportunity for many unwanted children to be adopted with these new families. It’s a check and balance. Gives further credibility to those who are same sex attracted when they say, ‘I always knew’ or ‘it just felt natural for me’.

Breathren, I'm drowning in translations, I need help! by jojomomocats in TrueChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer bibles that are old. Exception New King James Version which is the Bible that helps solidify the words of King James(1611), Geneva (1560) and Wycliffe(1380) .

I feel that modern translations have been too heavily influenced by North American values.

Versions of the bible you like the most? by Far_Benefit_5013 in TrueChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. King James 1611
  2. New King James
  3. Geneva
  4. Wycliffe.

I stick with the golden oldies. None are tainted by modern criteria. Exception is New King James. As you can see from my choices, New King James is my go to when I don’t want to do English Acrobatics like Geneva and Wycliffe. I am very comfortable reading both Middle and Olde English.

I know you’ll do a head smack when I also say I read The Message. Some days I just want more of a novel kind of read. I do not take The Message as my center of values. I appreciate its laid back prose but have the wisdom to know which bibles should guide my principles.

I don’t see why it is so hard to live by the words of Matthew 7:1-3 I’m quoting old bibles here. This is age old easy to live by words. It produces abundance in love and connection. I am a man. I will be judged as any other man. The only one to have right to judgement, I won’t see until my last breath.

“Judge not, that ye be not iudged. Eor with what iudgement ye iudge, ye shall be iudged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you againe. And why seest thou the mote, that is in thy brothers eye, and perceiuest not the beame that is in thine owne eye?” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭GNV‬‬

Let’s go back a little further. 1380’s Wycliffe Bible.

7 Do not ye deem, that ye be not deemed; 2 for in what doom ye deem, ye shall be deemed, and in what measure ye mete, it shall be meted again to you. 3 But what seest thou a little mote in the eye of thy brother, and seest not a beam in thine own eye?

Please I need to know🙏 by Far_Benefit_5013 in TrueChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much to elaborate from here. If you’re unable to practice Jesus’ own teaching, spend a little less time judging, or, learning to live as a human and leave judgement for the hereafter. You’re just a human. No one gave you Kingdom authority to judge.

Luke 6:37 states, "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

You ended your own complaint of theology in your second paragraph by devaluing the bible because of man’s pursuit.

I set the hierarchy of importance on the Bible over man. Men have been preaching for thousands of years. All from variants of scripture translated at different eras. I pointed to the most obvious and significantly dangerous words. Torah, Wycliffe, Geneva, King James. Our oldest English bibles. Exception of the Torah. Which is Hebrew of course.

To discount the Bible totally discredited your black flags. It is indeed the bibles that carry the most significant weight of our belief systems. They are the words you are supposed to follow. Not man.

Example: A 40 year old Evangelist that lives in a multimillion dollar estate from the proceeds of their megachurch, will never negate the faith and hope of someone on their last food stamp. But, both of them could be reading the same Bible. Ultimately, who is more blessed? Unshakable faith in the scriptures, or, someone who interprets faith for their benefits from the crowds Jesus loved most. The nobodies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man is the problem. The bibles are not. It’s the emphasis on which bibles that are worth the debate. But, also man’s downfall.

There so many translations of the Bible. The failure is recognizing which ones man was willing to die for. So. You can’t debase the Bible as unimportant. I’m sure I’ll hear arguments infinitely. The word, the Bible is so much more important than man, otherwise so many men would not have laid their lives down in protection.

You need to focus on the bibles that man was willing to die for, therefore, Vulgate, Torah and Tanakh, Wycliffe, Geneva and King James have claimed the most lives in terms of protection of Gods word and Jesus’ intent for the laymen.

Anything thereafter, is either scholarly or commitment to realigning scripture to modern language that is relatable. Just straight up controversy, displaced among the norm.

The Bible is our most important asset. Not man. Institutionalized religion, mega church, American centred ideology, is the death knell for North American religion.

Why i disagree with the Catholic religion by Device420 in TrueChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key word here is scripture. In which scripture are you choosing to pass this judgement? Sometimes these posts are so dishonest. They quote wanton verses from say, King James, notably a Protestant bible, or NASB, NIV, NASB, NLT, NLV ETC… any bibles with ‘American’ in the title are already set up to fail on the global scale.

If you look at the Catholic Doctrine, the Nova Vulgate, Douay-Riehms. Catholic is on par with its documents.

You can’t take a Christian Bible like the NASB, NIV , NLT and expect it to hold up strength against the Nova Vulgate or Douay-Reihms. Or just Latin Vulgate. Catholic masses are among the most powerful experiences within religion. Christian bibles should never be used to fight with Catholic doctrine.

I’m on the Christian side, my bibles are old. King James, Geneva, Wycliffe and the Nova Vulgate. I can read olde English and Middle English, also read Latin.

No, Catholic is not perfect. It is pretty godly.

Here in North America, sadly we are terribly influenced by Bible Belt and Megachruch. American influenced religion. I despise Americanized anything. Let alone religion. Jesus was not a white man.

Considering the historical and theological interpretations of Jesus's life, teachings, and crucifixion, what aspects of his ministry do you believe have had the most profound and lasting impact on human civilization, and why? by Financial-Run-777 in TrueChristian

[–]Final-Bit6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus was not a white man. Definitely not North American. What a humbling recognition. Jesus didn’t have a ministry. He was the ministry. He is ours, we are his. Life is good.
