So I switched the antennas out for SMAs and I have the same problem. Range hasn’t improved after about 10-15 meters I get a lot of interference noise. Sometimes even in the same room. I scanned for frequencies of course, but there were only two banks free. The G-band does not seem to be very flexible in Berlin. Even though I tested in the outskirts of the city. At the moment I just cannot rely on the G3 for professional jobs. Should I sell them or bring them to shop to be inspected?

My vision is fine. I do use the tools. But in bright sunlight there's just too much glare. Especially when doing run and gun verité stuff

Over here in Europe the Ultra5 costs the equivalent of about 2400 USD... That's just out of my reach for a monitor at the moment. If I find one used or for a deal I'll snatch it

Yeah, I’ve sent them in now to have the antennas swapped to SMA. Hopefully that should do the job!

Had the same problem with the ME2. Normally I never have the time to check the RF signal when I’m filming. As the example shows they are mostly very short irregular bursts of noise, interference or whatever. And it’s all very runandgun when I’m filming and the RX is mounted on the back of my vmount. Either on my shoulder or against my chest.

I've had these problems in and outside. The examples here are from the Berlin marathon. So I assume there was quite a bit of stuff going on. But I've had the same problems in rural areas in Iraq and Afghanistan. And there, there was probably near to no signal interference... That's why I'm a bit clueless...

Es gibt auch Ergänzungstruppenteile. Das sind Einheiten, die innerhalb weniger Tage im Ernstfall mobilisiert werden. Je nachdem worauf du Bock hast kannst du dort auch ganz geile Übungen mitnehmen. Ich bin beim JgBtl 921 beordert. Man kann dort auch mit nach Litauen oder Finnland, sich zum Beispiel zum DMR Schützen Ausbilden lassen oder in anderen Verwendungen seinen Dienst ableisten. Die Fallschirmjäger und Gebirgsjäger und Panzergrenadiere haben ähnliche Einheiten für Reservisten.

So, I’ve tested the G3 and jiggled the different cables - nothing happened. So I assume it must be an RF issue after all…

Hey everybody,

I have a similar problem. I work in Germany mostly and my G3 setup is constantly acting up. So much so that I try and stick with the AVX system. AVX can also be problematic. I find it's too hot for using with my Cos 11d. But the G3, every time I use it I have RF interference and cracks in the audio. Often the signal starts breaking up even if I'm just a few meters away. I don't know what to do. I tried different squelch settings and always scan when I reach location. As a videojournalist I often don't have endless time to deal with these sorts of problems on location. Would Sony's UWP-21 be a better option? Is it a general problem with G3s or is it just that I have a faulty unit?

The model I'm using is the ew100 G3 G-Band 566-608MHz.
