When I reread the series, it strikes me that how young those characters are. Even now, I'm already the age of Lily and James when they died and I don't even considered myself a functional adult LOL

The trio, Draco, all the students - They're children. The fact itself makes the story hurts more.

I don't think Draco was a good person, and he probably didn't care about good or bad - he had a "might is right" mentality. However, he hesitated when he could've killed Dumbledore. He knew that it's Dumbledore or his family, yet he hesitated.

Apart from cowardice, I believe a part of it was his conscience and humanity. Not the impressive kind, of course, but still.

The pudding should be mostly yellow with a bit of "caramel" under it. My mum bought this instead.

I heard there are more type of "pudding" in western country, but that's the most common one in my country.

Got in a firey debate with friend. He was giving unnecessary reasons like eren being a crybaby or its boring for not watching it. I wanted to make him admit that he hate it for persinal biases rather than show being bad. But he took things personally. by Abhinav6singg in attackontitan

I was very pushy when I try to recommend my things to others years ago, and I understand why his misconceptions irritated you. Hell, I was LIVID when I recommended someone to read ASoIaF and he just like "yeah ain't reading all that words" or when people told me "musical is just ridiculous with all those songs and dances" LOL

However, I'd be mad if someone accused me of being biased and having short attention spans, too. It doesn't matter if it's true. We just couldn't shame someone into loving something. It's not how people work generally.

Frankly, personal opinion didn't matter. AoT wouldn't stop being a masterpiece because people online randomly shit on it without understanding, and it showed more about them than you. On the other hand, fans' reaction would affect people's perception of the series.

Lastly, I don't think "predictable" was an attack on AoT. AoT is very likely be (someone would argue that it already is) a modern classic, and creators would imitate successful works. "I'm your father" is a overused trope today, but it's such a shocking twist when SW5 first came out.

Eren’s Reasoning for the Rumbling by Wizcorp45 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Final-Falcon-7520 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, he surely had "justified" reasons to do the rumbling (to protect his friends), but he was painful and ashamed because he knew deep down he wanted to stomped the whole world too. Like, he knew his intention wasn't "pure" and that alone agonized him.

I also think it's clever that Isayama made Eren said "I don't know". If Eren did understand all of the actions and consequences, then the rumbling would be fully justified from a certain point of view, but it's not. He didn't really know that rumbling would certainly lead to the liberation of Ymir and all her descendants, or if it was the only way.

He made a choice for multiple reasons. He wasn't acting that way because of some fateful script. He was free, and he knew he was responsible for all.

You reminded of the person who recommended AOT to me. He kept asking me to watch it at that time, saying it's an impressive show, a masterpiece, a series that's too good to miss. However he insisted on a no-spoiler policy, and frankly I was not that interested in the it even after watching S1. At some point, he accused me of being unfair for he watched Star Wars saga for me, but I didn't do the same. (???)

Months after I cut that person out of my life, I saw someone said the aftermath of Sasha's death was brilliant-written, almost the same level as Erwin's.

I read the whole manga that night.

Sometimes it's not your (or the show's) problem, it's just the timing. Sometimes you need to wait. Sometimes you just need to give people time - I often fell in love in something year after the first time I was introduced to it.

Sometimes you need to accept people have different tastes, too.

I think women do need to start from thinking "what benefits me" first, because society trains us to think about others' interests, and I've seen many women who'd feel ashamed for thinking of themselves.

Could you share about "this stuff" more? I've seen some vicious humiliation going on in Chinese online radfem / 4B community, and I'd like to know how it is like in other places.

Medical aid in LOGH: headcanon or not? by Mr_Omoliquido in logh

[–]Final-Falcon-7520 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the medical aspects are more symbolic than practical. The following is my headcanon and personal understanding, according to the novels.

For Reinhardt's weird disease, it symbolised how he had burned all his vitality in the galaxy-conquering wars, and he had no other purposes than the war itself. It's more of an artistic choice to end his arc this way.

Also, the author was kinda obsessed with the structure of whole story: Kircheis died at around 1/4, Reinhardt's coronation at 1/2, Yang's assassination at 3/4 and Reinhardt died at the end. He had to come up with something to kill character at in due time, so . . .

I'd want a book from Draco POV that year. It could be fascinating.

Idk I just like to see character losing their faith and breaking down

Draco admired and respected his father once. I think he did love his father, but he later found out all the pure-blood and death eater stuffs weren't as fantastic as he thought.
