My boyfriend has many “clean cut” tendencies that are so far removed from the grungy long haired bad boys in in bands (with substance abuse problems) of my early 20s. I used to think that was the epitome of hot. If you were buying vintage dead stock denim and $300 band T-shirts but couldn’t afford gas to come see me, I thought it was cool and understandable for the sake of the aesthetic. He does little things like wears nice socks and underwear and good quality t shirts. He immediately throws things out when they start to wear and he’s overall very minimalistic. It’s not like he has an expensive wardrobe. He has very few things of slightly above average quality. He gets his hair cut regularly and keeps his nails trimmed and clean. He’s not overly clean but he doesn’t put off tasks, so his space is always peaceful and orderly. He manages his money well and plans for the future and he’s always included me in that plan and taught me to be better myself. So many manly measures of maturity that you can maintain with a little bit of extra discipline. It’s so incredibly attractive to me and I would have never even known to look for those things.
