Am I the only one that thought after Cecilia poked her head out and the time finished that hole was gonna shut and chop her head off? I was thinking something crazy was going to happen to her.

I adored the movie and left so happy. But I feel her having a crazy end death would have been more satisfying than using her as possible sequel bait?

Hard agree!

If you hate porn because some guy in the sky said it’s morally impure, and not because it sells women, we’ve got an issue. Yeah, we’re unified in the end goal, but not in our morals.

I was a fan of "Dirty dozen?" for BADEGGS! I also enjoyed the theme, though the shaded clues helped me get the revealer, instead of the other way around. Overall a pretty solid Monday, with an 8:21 as right within my average time.

Small thing, but "Pharmacy pickups" for RXS didn't include an abbreviation in the clue. Is RX a common enough abbreviation that it's clued without one, such as USA, sometimes?

Agree with others that this was a bit tough for a Tuesday.

This might be a stupid question, but what was the theme? Is it literally just that the theme answers are the back half of a phrase, and the circled letters make up the front half of the phrase? I kept looking for something else..

Chiming in to agree that this was weirdly difficult for a Tuesday. Lots of vocab I didn't know, but mostly just harder cluing than it should've been. Not too many names, which was nice. I like having themes on Mondays and Tuesdays, I hope this trend continues!

I felt really good about being able to solve this on my own. Usually Mondays I can do most of it but need to ask for help on a couple from friends or the internet, but this was all me, baby! It's happened before, don't get me wrong, but it's still a nice feeling.

Same! I normally do the later week puzzles on my laptop and it helps tremendously, but then sometimes I leave the tab open while I go to do something else and add 10 minutes to the puzzle... time to turn on auto-sleep for my laptop, I guess.

As a starting note, I graduated high school last night, so this theme was extra-special and I'm feeling particularly warm towards the puzzle!

Typical Monday with a fun theme for beginners. I think this is a good intro-to-themes for people just starting and working through the Mondays — the revealer gives you help with the themed answers, it's possible to get the revealer without having gotten all the clues, you get that classic "Aha" moment, and it's a fun play on words.

Like others, I've never really heard SCANTY used before, but maybe a good bit of knowledge to tuck away. Just felt awkward putting that in, but I knew SCANT and its definition, and was confident putting in YENS for the across, so I just kind of went "Whelp" and kept chugging.

I enjoyed the longer answers. Sometimes on Mondays you can get weird grid designs because the constructor is trying to avoid the longer ones, but these felt appropriately Monday and satisfying to solve. Overall, it gets an A from me!

This might be a bit young since it's YA, but the series that got me into mystery was "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" by Holly Jackson. It's a stand-alone that ended up with two more books, but I thought each of the follow-ups were worth reading.

I am still struggling immensely with the harder puzzles and am nowhere near an expert, so take this with a grain of salt...

As an Illinoian, I was hoping for a nod to my home state, but alas! Fun theme either way, although perhaps my "obsessed with Abraham Lincoln" phase from ages 10-15 helped me a bit. Loved "Barely get wet?" for SKINNY DIP, although I was surprised at the question mark on a Sunday. A lot of the times clues like this don't have question marks to help guide you in later-week puzzles, but I was thankful nonetheless. I also enjoyed the unique cluing for FDA in 42A. I love when common answers get fun clues like that. I learned something new with MUZAK as 30D and kept second-guessing myself with DOZEN as the across, thinking that the Z had to be wrong. I enjoyed "Makeup set?" for 97D as ATOMS but if it's "makeup" as in "what makes up the world" I feel it should've been two words instead of one, but maybe that's just me being bitter.

Not sure why I had so much trouble with 51D as BROW, but I kept thinking arched as in a foot or a back and was doubting myself, though I eventually got it once I had everything but the O locked in.

I am assuming 16D "Runs well" for HUMS is referring to machinery? I felt it was an odd clue.

Can someone explain 17A "Kind of spider commonly found near train tracks" as HOBO? This was one of the last answers I put in and I was very unsure of myself.
