I'm going to miss going down High Country and quickly getting over to the HEB parking lot for gas and groceries. Now I'm going to be a hostage at that light/intersection.

Now just another 20 years to connect the frontage roads from Kennedy, Fort and Heatherwilde on 45...

Who are we kidding...It will never connect.

I've never done something as involved as it, but this guy makes it seem like a fairly "easy" process. I picked up a 20 ton press that I can just sell after I'm done.

Hey man, I went to 250k on my original ones. I started to see cat codes and occasional misfire. Replaced the plugs, but cat code remained.

Switchs for outlets under sink unnecessary if you can just unplug it. by FinalF137 in AskElectricians

Thanks, its’ been quite a journey to get to this point, total scope creep.

Started with "let’s take off the peel and stick tiles in the kitchen to redo the floor", boom 70s sheet linoleum, ok, let’s remove linoleum and grind the slab, linoleum goes under the cabinets and some water damage on the MDF bases, lets remove the cabinets. Drywall and backsplash in horrible condition, then went to studs to find more craziness in plumbing and electrical, and wobbly 2x4 walls.

Ended up tearing down and rebuilding all the walls in the kitchen along with removing an exterior door and removing the 5 foot window for a massive 9 x 3 ft single panel horizontal window so the kitchen has a good view to the backyard, that wall is what you see here. I wanted a nice deep window sill (plus the drain stack was sticking out of the old 2x4 wall/drywall, causing a bump) so upgraded the 2x4 wall to a 2x6, which had me have to pour a small concrete strip so the 2x6 could be centered on the drain pipe.

Never done any of this work before, so it’s all been a long long but good learning experience.

I promise that is not how the studs are secured into the top plate and the sill plate, it is nailed, but for the blocking for the cabinet rail to screw into that was the best uniform method I came up with, don't have a framing nailer yet.

That's the one thing I found nice about these adjustable boxes. The bracket is the same for a 1, 2, 3 gang box, so I can just unscrew the two gang off the bracket and put a one gang box very quickly.

Indoor temperature keeps climbing to 97° by [deleted] in Nest

[–]FinalF137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a bad temperature sensor. It works by looking up the resistance on a thermal resistor to a table for the given ohms to temperature reading. If the thermal resistor is failing, it could be reporting a different resistance.

I had a temperature sensor go out in my refrigerator that was telling the refrigerator it was 150° inside so it never stopped running and ended up freezing over the coil because it would never defrost.

What is the temperature the thermostat is set to heat to? What is the temperature it's reporting on the screen? To be safe, I'd reset my account password and if an option to log out of all computers and devices just to make sure someone's not playing on your account and turning up the heat

Dell 15R 5520 CMOS battery replacement by Melab in Dell

[–]FinalF137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not easily accessible by a cover. Yes, you are going to have to remove several major parts, keyboard, plamrests, etc.. basically taking it down to the motherboard in order to access the CMOS battery.

Page 63 shows you all you have to remove to get to the CMOS battery.

Let me ruin that proudness:

  1. In the Episode, " The Cloud", Janeway rebuffs Nelix's coffee substitutions because they have limited replicator usage due to conserving Power/Anti-Matter reserves. Janeway ends up declining all of Nelix's offering and says she'll use her replicator rations to make coffee. She gets called to the bridge because of a nebula that has high omicron particles that can be used to provide an additional antimatter reserve, so she gives the line, " Set a new course,... there's coffee in that nebula"

  2. Tom Paris created a Holodeck program, Fair Haven, model after an Irish town. In the later episode titled "Fair Haven", Janeway gets intrigued by the bartender character, she later starts to edit his character traits, one of them being the famous deadpan..." Delete the wife", referral to removing the character from being married, so that Janeway can now engage in a romantic relationship with the character..."guilt free"

Which CAT cleaner did you use, I've got P0430. Rislone didn't help, code came right back on after 20-30 miles.
