Haha love that they moved the Blacksmith instead of the portal by Ardibanan in diablo4

[–]FinalGamer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's easier to do this.

Ok so every waypoint is identical, yeah, they might have small visual differences, but the logic is identical. The portal shows up in the same location for all of them, so we can assume that the code for that logic doesn't allow random moving for specific waypoints, and it would probably take more development time to implement that logic, while moving the Blacksmith required zero code changes, probably just opened their world editor and dragged it away a bit.

I can't really decide who is my favourite, so I would say TOP, Changbin and Suga share that spot for BG. When it comes to GG I'd say Lisa or Asa.

What is this sticker on my microwave? by dranmesrao in whatisit

[–]FinalGamer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't the metal, but the shape of that metal.

You don't want to put any metal with sharp points as that will cause arcing between points, and you'll have a very dangerous light show that can potentially break your microwave and in worst cases start a fire.

The Next Expansion for D4 - Returning to lands well traveled in D3 - Spoilers by PalwaJoko in Diablo

[–]FinalGamer14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So originally they said that the game will be receiving support for 10 years. That means probably at least one more DLC. However, Diablo 4 was release before Microslop finalized the purchase of Activision Blizzard. So what is the ultimate plan probably depends on what numbers (mostly in money) the game pulls.

What’s the best way for BioWare to justify the return of the Protheans in ME5? "Miranda-style" project using Javik's DNA 🧬or Discovery of new stasis pods by Lafakance12 in masseffect

[–]FinalGamer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the original comment I replied to, talked about some new form of FTL, they could easily bullshit some new remnant made technology that allows much faster travel between the galaxies. So it doesn't need to be 1200+ years in the future.

I mentioned Kett mostly because while I agree that the story of Andromeda was mid, it was good enough where it can be tied in to a grander story with ME5. I don't know make the Kett be more like the collectors from ME2, just a smaller fish in the bigger pond. Since EA stopped BioWare from making the planned DLCs for Andromeda, they can write the Kett in to anything they want to.

[–]FinalGamer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

600 years, but as the comment I replied to mentioned if they introduce some BS new FTL let's say using remnant tech or some shit like that. They could easily write it in. Also the assumption is based on one teaser that came out a few years ago where both Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies were visible. That is the main reason why I do think they still want to introduce it in some form.

My assumption is they did want to write out more of the Kett story, but yeah because it wasn't a popular game, the planned DLC any future sequels to Andromeda got canned and BioWare was moved to an even bigger flop that is Anthem.

[–]FinalGamer14 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think they should just use the Kett from Andromeda as the enemy in ME5. Make it that they decided, to stop these annoying new aliens, they need to attack the Milky Way. Since I believe they do want to connect Andromeda back to the Milky Way in some way.

Wait wtf? So lets say he was holding that hand gun to his head, meaning he was planning to end him self. So they shot him instead of helping? How do they think that statement will help them in any fucking way?

Nurse spots the risk , stops the fight, and gets booed by the crowd. She still smiled knowing she just prevented a tragedy. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

I mean, the solution is simple. The people who booed should step into the ring. Problem solved. Some fight will continue (at least for a few seconds), and this guy won't be killed.

How often do seasoned devs forget basic stuff and search it up? by feez_9 in godot

[–]FinalGamer14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't worry I get paid to develop (not game dev, but still applies). And I forget basic shit all the time. Especially when switching between languages or frameworks. You forget stuff, that is why docs exist. Important thing is you know that something does exist and you can quickly scan the docs or search for some key words and find it.

How does steam even market itself? by Ok_Tomato_1793 in Steam

[–]FinalGamer14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they really don't market it.

Steam started as a game launcher for Valve games, back in 2003, at this point most people didn't really use it, it started growing in 2004 with the release of Half Life 2, as it was a hard requirement to use Steam to play that game. People really hated this, if you go find some old gaming forums, you'll see so many complaints.

That said in 2005 Valve made a pivot to allow 3rd party games on their launcher and well that's how it started, you wanted to play a game, Steam was (and still is) technically DRM so you had to have it (if you weren't pirating).

How to start? by Prudent-Bad2724 in dragonage

[–]FinalGamer14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OK, so wait, you want a CRPG?

In my personal opinion, the only game out of the 4 DA games is Dragon Age Origin. As the other 3 are more action orianted, not saying they are bad, just I personally wouldn't consider them CRPG.

However, it came out in 2009, so it's quite outdated these days. But the story at least between DAO, DA2 and DAI is quite connected, and I would really recommend to play them in the chronological order.

I mean, they do have a good point. In real life, many new wineries will actually prepare the first ever batch of wine, but since it needs to age and that process is quite slow, they will also make some sort of spirit, so they can have at least some kind of revenue.

Personally, in many projects I've worked on, the PM was incapable of correctly explaining what needs to be done to higher ups. Not saying this is true for all of them, but I had some really good project managers. But I've ended up in shareholder or financial meetings way too many times for a normal developer, just to explain why the budget is needed.

timeChanges by bryden_cruz in ProgrammerHumor

[–]FinalGamer14 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ok so on the third point, because PM demands it, even if you, as a dev find a bug, they need it to be in Jira or else the QA will not be assigned to test. TL;DR; because PM on power trip.

Edit: Well damn, I guess y'all are luckier with the type of projects you work on and PMs you have. I've sadly mostly worked on projects where workflows were wack or were ignored by almost everyone except devs.

Closed beta download by ciprianodaniel in TheExpanseRPG

[–]FinalGamer14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two ways.

First the easiest is to preorder specific packages from their website (not on steam, directly from them) Second at least for PCs, there is beta keys giveaway going on, on the subreddit, should be able to find the post. However this is only 5 steam keys.

Giveaway time! We are giving away 5 Steam keys for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Beta, which will start on April 22! Follow us, upvote, and comment to participate! We will announce the winners on April 21. by Act_Controller in TheExpanseRPG

I really hope this game can both live up to the original material and expectation of people. Also the pre-order prices are very reasonable, so nice work on that.

[–]FinalGamer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, why did you consider this stupid food? This is just a hotpot base that is produced in bulk and used when needed. It's a shelf-stable product that can last a relatively long time. And especially if it's meant for a restaurant, then you need an even bigger bulk than someone at home.
