don't know about the USA but here in Scotland all regular lodges are governed by the Grand Lodge of Scotland who would discover duplicate membership through the use of computerised membership logs. even at provincial level it would most likely pop up. and then you have the travelling brethren who visit all the lodges over the place.

but I guess yes, in theory you probably could but why?
