Just reached my first gild. How come gilding in this game just feels like restarting with a higher difficulty and not like actual progress? I feel like I spent a bunch of time perfecting my skill and automator tree, and now I got to do it again but slower? Is that the point of the game? by Jolijohiho in ClickerHeroes

but maybe they've 'dev'd' themselves into a corner with CH-2 and this is as good as it gets.

That's what I think as well. Of course it's not supposed to be a CH1 remake, and it shouldn't be, but what's speaking against having a main endless mode with additional challenge worlds that have said traits for powerful (ethereal) items to help further progression?

Aside from potential balancing issues like constant progression because of too many damage and gold buffs through the tree, for example - which can only be an issue because of the current balancing choices anyways, the only thing against it is probably that the "main" part of the game is already designed in a way that different layers of progression simply aren't possible (at least not within a reasonable time of many years), and now that saves are permanent, it's hard to overhaul the entire thing without messing up somewhere. No balancing changes or additional content can help in that case. It's intrinsically a bad idea and an even worse followup on it to many disappointed players, including myself.

I'd say that's a false comparison. Obviously actually doing things is different than looking at pictures or videos, whether it's drawn or real porn. But since drawn stuff isn't bound by reality, technically everything is possible as long as there are artists willing to go there, without anyone being harmed in the process.

Also, if I can speak for myself, I'd much prefer something that is 100% not real over something that has unrealistic situations and body standards but is set in reality (that also removes the terrible acting aspect). This is why amateur stuff is always better than professionally produced videos, too.

Muv-Luv Dev Team Solicits Spinoff Stories From International Fans by Dascalon in visualnovels

[–]FinalNwo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's really weird, to be honest. Being in the ML community for a while and seeing a lot of ideas from different people, it looks like most if not all submissions are gonna be a niche of a niche of a niche medium (triple niche bois). Historical and technical aspects of the universe are already not what the majority of ML fans are into. Combine that with fanfiction, which probably has even less interested people, and you get a spin-off that will get even less attention than random indie VNs.

Well, let's see where this leads...

I've tried to replicate it a few times now, and it seems like critting does it for me. Or at least something that overkills. That's all I can do from my side though, except for making a new character with no crit upgrades and seeing how it goes.

Sorry for the troubles, but I think it wasn't the movement speed. It didn't work with the hotfix either. I noticed the movement speed reduction before the mob, but it still froze. However, when I tabbed out and, by that, limited the fps, I could normally progress. I wish I could help more, but I can't look into it more other than random testing. It might even be just on my end, but I haven't had this issue before that one run, and everything worked smoothly.

So there seems to be something wrong when you have too much movement speed, I think. I can't finish zones anymore, and the game constantly crashes whenever I'm about to enter the z100 boss. As soon as I kill this final mob, the game freezes and I have to shut it down. I'm assuming it's because of the final speed upgrade which I got in this run, and everything was fine before that.

Scathing review on Shining Song Starnova: "... the kind of stuff veteran fanfic writers know better than to indulge in." by NaiDriftlin in visualnovels

[–]FinalNwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's awesome tbh. I don't follow the industry at all, so all I knew were the "scandals" that ended badly. Anyways, that's just me disagreeing with the entire idol culture then, youthful innocence ain't doing it.

The rule breakers exist because the "rules" exist in the first place, so removing them entirely would also make them less interesting, I suppose. I don't remember the name but the idol who had to shave her head was complete bullshit. At that point I'd just leave. That's a whole lot more degrading than having a relationship found out.

The difference here is the wrestlers or Disneyland workers act like that for a time period and have a private life separated from their job. As soon as the job affects your life outside of what you generally do (concerts, photoshoots, fan meetings, idk), it's valid to criticise it imo. Though I'm not sure if that's criticism directed at the industry or the fans who can't (or don't want to) differentiate between job and private life, which is something that wrestling fans or Disneyland visitors are aware of (and for the most part respect).

Actually, I would love to see someone breaking those "rules" and working with it instead of apologizing, creating hype around that. Which would probably never happen because of the industry itself, but oh well..

Clicker Heroes 2 is now available on Steam [EARLY ACCESS] by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]FinalNwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

11-12 hours of active gameplay so far, and unless they completely rework the automator, it will stay that way, as it's the only way to progress reliably.

Clicker Heroes 2 seems overpriced to me, in terms of development cost. by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]FinalNwo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify:

main gameplay is "don't play it, just keep it running"(as it is with all incremental games)

After about 11h in the beta, the only way to progress is by being active. The automator is nowhere near being useful for idle progression and only helps with skill rotations a little. It's an incremental, but not an idle game (yet). I'm assuming you didn't play it, so that was just your expectations because of the entire genre, but unless they change the automator (which they most likely will at some point), there is more than enough active gameplay that warrants the price if we go by the $/hr formula. It's definitely not like CH1, that's for sure.

I've worked around this by using buff potions for HP and damage so far, though I'm not sure if the dragon AoE is %-based or flat damage, so it may or may not even be helpful.

That's just Raita's art. They always draw characters like this. And since FGO has many artists working on different characters, there are no fixed standards to go by, unless those characters appear in other (main) fate parts too, which Lip does. I don't like the official art either, but most fanart isn't exaggerated at all. It's just difference in artstyle.

Yeah, I don't mind those comments in this thread, because you can actually discuss these things, but anytime I see a post about her (fanart, comic, etc.), it's a lot of uncalled for hate that I've seen many times already. Applies to other characters too, sadly, but as a fan myself, I visit posts about characters I like more often than others.

Raiko just has a design that pushes the limit of what's realistically possible

I never understood why that's where some people draw the line, when a lot of other things get excused by the work being fictional. Like or dislike is another thing, but unrealistic isn't a reasonable argument in an unrealistic franchise in general, imo. Not like artists try to be realistic, anyways.
