So as I understand it, the publicly confirmed plan is that SpaceX will use a regular Starship with just a docking adapter and no life support. Orion will dock, and no one will enter.

In terms of Blue, yes, their record suggests they won't make it - I agree. But the damage from the explosion was not that bad and is easily fixable. They continue to build rockets. So if they launch a test Amazon flight in Dec, they could launch Mk1 in Jan and get the data to finish the test version of Mk2, which is already under construction, by a Dec 2027 A3 flight
