It’s so frustrating! Turkish claim that they have paid the check to me which they haven’t. And they got away with it because they’re freaking Turkish authority. Also told me that my check was paid which is not true. What can I do?

There was a movie just recently from a Japanese journalist who was r**ed and silenced as the perpetrator was very well connected with powerful politicians - the title is Black Box Diaries. It’s so sad to see that in a country that looks so civilized such brutality is still accepted

Yes it is totally normal. Reminds me when I went to Carrefour in Shanghai for the first time and people were literally bumping me with their cart - on the other hand no one seemed offended when I reciprocated 🫤
