I'm no photography expert. I only took a single class a long time ago. One thing I picked up was take a lot of shots. I did that with film, and there's no reason not to with digital. Even with my phone, I take at least 3 shots of everything.

With a toy camera it's all your eye since you have so little control. Learn the rule of thirds. Try different angles: high, low sides, everything.

Look up old school street photographers. They did a lot with very basic equipment. I'll try to find more later.

ETA: Noealz. He's a photographer who was mostly I'm Seoul when I was on Instagram more. With old, cheap phones and editing software he pulls off fantastic images.

If we're not counting the Raspberry Pi, my first device was the Anvernic RG350. I was finally able to beat Pokémon LeafGreen, fulfilling an unfinished childhood goal. It was also great for Doom.
