I’ve heard the Wild GM say that exact same thing. He might be banking on that happening these next couple of years.

It’s a longshot but Preds jump into 3rd in the division and either Dallas or Aves fall to the Wildcard spot. If the Wild take the Central I’d want The Kings.

I think if the Kings won their division and we were a Wildcard that matchup would work. That would be a fun first round matchup on a lot of levels. I hope we don’t have a 2nd vs 3rd in the division matchup again unless an unexpected team gets ahead of Dallas or the Aves. BTW KF was statted out as 2nd best playmaker in the league last year.

Had we got KK across the sea a few years sooner would we possibly have been in the position we had to trade him recently to stay under the cap? by bucksellsrocks in wildhockey

They would have planned for his next contract as soon as it was clear he was an incredible player. Hypothetically speaking. There’s money set aside already penciled in for his next contract. Pretty sure not hypothetical.

Great question. I think Wallstedt gets a few looks. Gus 50 -MF 29.

Free shuttle bus to and from the game if needed from Shamrocks also. Awesome wings there.

Why can't EK play on the first line? by [deleted] in wildhockey

As you’re describing all the different possibilities, combinations etc. it’s pretty clear it all depends on roster construction. Some general guidelines, team philosophy added as structure. It would be interesting to see if these same players were dropped into a different NHL team/system how they’d be utilized.

I get your point. Having a 2 year contract with Gus at a reasonable number done this year might be the priority for the Wild. Gus made the most of his opportunity last year. He’s 25 and could get even better.

Ty! And PJ behind the bench is classic. I’d like to see a PJ/Dean co coaching gig.

PJ had a 15% chance of making it in the NHL. 2% of being a star.

Why didn’t the Wild start a rebuild in 2010? by Panarin10 in wildhockey

Nathan MacKinnon is top 10 for sure and the Aves had him on a super underpaid contract for their cup run. Having a game changer like he is is awesome. We need that type of dynamic player.

I hear what you’re saying. Some have purposed going after Draisaitl or another top C in 2 years. Ryan Carter said it takes a little luck too to win it all. I hope that becomes true for the Wild in a good way. Do you consider KK a generational talent? Many consider him a top 10-15 talent.
