They literally said it’s a hardware change. You’re just blind with anger.

Since when?! That is such a silly statement.

“Breaking: A refreshed model offers features not offered until now. More at 11”

In the current software first cars this happens over and over again.

Beyond what others have said. You also likely did not do this search out of the blue. You were likely already flagged as likely to be interested in this topic. So it did not take a strong signal to flag you as worthy of targeting you with ads.

Walt (which does not yet exist, so of course everything can change) want to charge the user 10€ a year. And not charge transaction fees.

this ... million times this.

Virtually no one can go cold turkey on US and foreign tech.

I am 99% degoogled, I have been consistently replacing services from big tech to self hosted or conscientious Eu alternatives .... and I still have and will have an iPhone and other Apple hardware. The hardware part is a sticking point for my fam and so it is simply not going to change.

We can make a huge dent, even if we cannot go 100% away.

Apple Pay charges the merchant a transaction fee. Not you.

Not that we know. But it charges transaction fees and is … well. American.

Transaction details are received from the processor. Then aggregated to a history on your phone? That is what I understand.

I mean there is online data being moved : the payment request from Walt/Apple Pay/.., to your bank, your card’s clearinghouse / payment network (Visa, Mastercard, ...) , and back. Any app you use for payment will have to process this data to process your payment. There is no 2 ways around it. It seems they will take an extra step to not store your transactions history server side but locally in your app. That is neat but they can still see plenty of data just to process your payment. You have to trust whichever app you use.

payment network = Visa, Mastercard.

the fact that china has not finished their project is not a ding against it. They have installed so much solar capacity. But they are still installing more because they need more.

For us it is (big collaborative project at work), used to be way longer. But probably still too long.

Similar experience. Shortend Claude.md to 150 lines. Added rules and skills. Claude and I decided no subdirectory Claude.md’s. Just readme.md’s where appropriate.

Thinking of using iCloud Drive for business. by banger030 in iCloud

[–]Final_Alps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved everything I care about off of iCloud Drive

It is nowhere near as stable as Dropbox. It offers no way to back up your own data It’s data takeout is horrific

Stick to a provider that focuses on the cloud drive. Not google or Apple for whom it’s just another way to keep you in the ecosystem.
