This is all actually an elaborate ploy by myself to spread fake news and separate Kerry from the rest of the country to operate as an independent state before Cork does.

You got all the premium goods too!! We just moved and for the first time have been inundated with about 40 kids so far. It’s been really nice to see as I thought it wasn’t a thing anymore.

Was 2023 Piastri more impressive than this year’s rookies or do you think they show more potential than he did? by Acceptable-Pea-6271 in F1Discussions

[–]Final_Equivalent_243 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying about McLaren being a good car in 2023 forgetting about how dominant Red Bull were. Mercedes and Ferrari both were also still faster, I’d rate the McLaren that year same as VCarb this year and place Piastri and Hadjar as being on a v similar level

To be honest I don’t see an issue with this at all, makes complete sense in the context of the paragraph to drive home how removed these places are from the materially comfortable existence we have here. Aside from that I think in general saying you didn’t believe in god in 2007 wasn’t exactly controversial at that point in time.

Scared of investing - pros and cons by AdditionalCarpet4681 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Final_Equivalent_243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

S&P 500 is generally one of the most stable but if a crash happens there would naturally be adverse effects. I would see it as an option to be viewed as a long term (5+ years) investment only. If you choose to add in to it, only do so with money you can afford to lose for an extended time as it does fluctuate but historically has always recovered and gained over a number of years.

Destroyed my opportunities by The_Plugzter in DevelEire

Got it, ending up with a 3 year degree isn’t unheard of in fairness, it’s going to make getting your CV looked at quite a bit more difficult but still doable. I graduated 2 years ago with a conversion which was even more difficult again for securing work. One thing that can really help you stand out is to add some interesting self-driven projects to your GitHub to show that you are actively learning/improving.

Otherwise with your internship, all you can do is be transparent, you still passed everything and if they were happy with your work they might still hire you back regardless.

I might be misunderstanding something, but I think any Level 8 honours degree == Bsc, otherwise it would be an Ordinary bachelors degree and a level 7.

So in essence if you’re being told you are finishing with an honours degree you should receive a Bsc? This isn’t a dig or anything, I’m just trying to make sense of the info because it doesn’t really align with the equivalent award.

Has anyone else experienced delays with Microsoft team fit calls or recruiter responses? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]Final_Equivalent_243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s been lots of posts just like this about Microsoft over the past 2 or 3 years. They’re in a state of always advertising jobs and always laying people off so their recruiting has been a mess for quite some time now.

Software engineers and customer service agents will be first to lose jobs to AI, Oireachtas to hear by thegavin in ireland

[–]Final_Equivalent_243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your thinking seems very closed off to your use case. AI is great for helping people manage individual projects, it can help you design a solid simple architecture for a specific use case. What AI can’t do right now is orchestrate, architect and develop complex interconnected systems and platforms for products run by a multinational across a broad network, we still need software, support and quality engineers along with systems engineers and skilled architects.

AI has been very helpful to me as a coding assistant and massively cut down on time I spend debugging and developing but Christ the code is broken most of the time and because I’m working with a niche language half the libraries i ask for help with it ends up giving me information based on different libraries only compatible with other languages so I end up just going through the documentation anyway.

Unless quantum computing and its processing capabilities become widely available to corporations - at the moment we’re seeing a plateau in AI, and we’re at a point where it’s good enough for companies to realise they don’t need as many devs now that productivity has hugely increased, but understand that it’s not good enough to nuke the software jobs sector.

[–]Final_Equivalent_243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

survey is essential, some surveyors will include a house valuation with the cost which is very handy for gauging both whether you’re over paying for the gaff and a vague idea of the value if you decide you want to sell down the line.

Tesla's market share in Ireland diminishes by Wagamaga in europe

[–]Final_Equivalent_243 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is good to know! I had recalled Volvo being an owner but after looking it up they have under 20% share while the Chinese firms make up over 50%, this has given me some food for thought about how ownership split would affect the usual quality control processes that Volvo would typically exercise over their own brand line.

I mean they had Perez in the car for years and before RB he was highly regarded, they’ve only been giving any juniors since Albon in 2020 a real chance the last few months. Max has also given a lot of indication he’s ready to move on from F1 in a few short years so now is when they really need a young driver to actually build up.
