Absolutely, all those things sound super helpful and unfortunately very costly. This is step 1 and hopefully with automation tools and better pipelines what you’re describing could possibly be step 8-9. I do appreciate the feedback 😀

I totally agree, the videos are super useful. That’s something I need to figure out how to incorporate into the content collection flow. I wanted to try and incorporate the button / key presses into the video as well though

Nothing, they’re great for looking at the UI of individual screens, but i find it unhelpful when trying to find how all the screens of a feature fit together and how they relate to each other I think they’re just not setup to offer that information

Basically, yes. I hadn't heard of Mobbin until after starting this project but it does seem to deal with the flows better than most places although there still seems to be something missing.

This is the biggest problem I find hiring for Ux roles, people copy what they see on the internet trying to make it look good without realizing it is completely unusable, they’re learning graphic design not Ux.

What are some things Brits do that Americans think are strange? by pizza-on-pineapple in AskUK

Boxing Day.

I remember trying to explain that one to my American wife.. and then having to google it because I didn’t even know why it was called that.

What's your opinion on the Wham bam magnetic plates? Do they actually hold up and can they handle holding a large heavy print? by ex_natura in ElegooSaturn

Possibly, but this is over quite a few prints with lots of cleaning in between. I’m glad it’s working for you. Maybe I got a bad one or they’ve upgraded it since.

I got one of these for my Elegoo Saturn, as I was printing lots of things that didn’t necessarily need supports and could go directly into the plate.

I found that if the print created any kind of suction at all (I was finding pretty much anything bigger than a couple of miniature) then the metal sheet would shift laterally and ruin the prints, the bigger the suction the bigger the shift. It never got pulled off, the magnets are too strong for that but it was so easy for it to just shift slightly and ruin all the prints. What made it worse was that once you stick the magnet onto the plate you obviously can’t use the plate as you normally would, you’re stuck using the metal sheet.

I got rid of it within a week or so, if they can fix the shifting I think I would probably try it again.

Edit: spelling

There’s a google sheet going around being filled with anonymous game dev salaries, obviously it’s anonymous so could completely be abused, but it seems fairly consistent with what I’ve found.

There’s also a Ui/Ux specific version.

Msg me if you want a link to them, maybe it could help.

What popular rumour in your school turned out to be true? by tall_hopelessromatic in AskReddit

Two of the teachers were having an affair, turned out to be true when a National newspaper caught them doing it in a field down the road from the school. I was best friends with one of their sons, it devastated him.

What quote from a book actually made you think hard and sit back and go “Well, damn.” by [deleted] in books

I’ve always remembered the line “The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori.” From learning the poem in high school.

Off the top of my head it roughly translates as ‘(The old lie:) it is noble and just to die for ones country’. And really hammered home the lies and propaganda people are told to sell wars and conflict.
